New MINI Pics (as promised)
New MINI Pics (as promised)
Just picked up our new 2007 S Conv. on Jan 3, and as promised, here are the pics:

Again, thanks to everyone for all the great info over the past few months. And here are some tidbits learned driving around this weekend:
1. Our MINI averaged ~28.3 MPG on the first tank of gas (38MPH avg).
2. Learned all MINI's bound for owners on the east coast go through Charleston SC (according to my MA).
3. Our MINI came w/ Goodyear run flats (195/55 R16).
4. Aux jack is now standard.
5. Owner's manual states that the car can use 87 octane, 91+ is recommended, but 87 "will not harm the engine".
See ya around Jax FL!

welcome! great looking MINI and a perfect environment for a Cabrio... makes me want to move to warmer, beachier climates. enjoy!
p.s. - i would stick with the highest octane you can (93 I think here)... it only comes out to be a couple $ more per fillup and it is worth it!

Welcome to a new experience
Nice to know that you can use 87 if you so desire. We have found that we do not worry about the price of fuel - just enjoy driving.
congrats..
Florida plates on a MINI, that could have been me if I stayed in Orlando. But I moved to Southen California. Nice color choice
Congrats! Thanks for the pics.

I plan on running 93 octane for a few fill ups, then switch to 89 for a few to determine if any differences are observed w/ performance, gas mileage, engine sound, etc.
Thanks for all the kind words!

I was told by my MA it is only the late 2006 and 2007 'verts that come with AUX standard. He said he started telling people it was all the cars and then found out it was only the verts when there wasn't one in a hardtop he delivered.
Also, for cars coming to the NY/NJ/CT and New England area they go through a VPC in NJ.
That is one great looking MINI you have there. I like the beach pictures, what part of Jax is that picture located? Was stationed in Mayport for a few years, have not been back there since 2002.

Hey Go RU,
I picked my Mini up right after you did in Jax. I picked my mini up at Tom Bush on January 5th Friday. I'm actually out of Polk County, Fl, I just posted my pictures in the gallery.
Great looking Mini! Maybe we'll see you on the road some day!
Take Care and enjoy that Mini!
