NJ Newbe

I took delivery of my mcs june 1 2006. Giles is BRG ( by the way there is no such thing as British Racing Black) with white top, caps stripes and sunroof. I had to get the Park Lane leather. The pattern nearly matches the seats on my '66 MG Midget. I recently added oem boost gauge ,voltmeter and strut brace. I decided to get the 6speed auto as half my driving is stopngo in NYC. I am interested in other owners feedback on the automatic. I love it in steptronic mode but am not that fond of it in full auto. Well, I don't want to wear out My welcome on my first post.

Welcome, Jim. Sounds like a sweeeeeeeeeet MINI !

Just a note. There's a couple of things you don't have to worry about around here. One, you can't talk TOO much about a MINI, no matter how hard you try. Second, you can never post too many pics of your beloved MINI cuz we just loooooooove pics !

Yeah, we have two Coopers with CVT and I can relate to your choice to not allow the auto tranny to dictate your RPMs.

Hi Jim,

Congrats and welcome to a fellow NJ'r. Keep an eye out for local rallies and gatherings. Perhaps we'll see you there. It's always fun.

We have done a couple of events so far. We went to the Lime Rock vintage races and the Halloween rally both sponsered by the dealer, Pretige Mini in Mahwah. After reading the horror stories about bad dealers and service I feel even better about prestige. My salesman was great. I paid msrp which included $50 in merchandise (helped pay for my carpet mats} and lifetime free carwashes. So far the service has been great although I haven't had much done. Prestige gave us the tickets for Limerock and everything at the Halloween rally was free. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Welcome! Go to www.nemini.org and find out when and where to go to meet up with some fellow motorers. Really fun people on that board who do interesting events/rallies/runs.
