New MINI addict
Hello all,
Just bought a used MINI last week, and I'm totally in love. I found a 2005 S PW/B with only 9500 miles on it, so I jumped on it! (Just had to share my joy with people who would understand my new infatuation...) I am thrilled that the previous owner didn't drive it all that much, it looks brand new. I didn't think I would mod too much, but after reading through all of the posts and seeing some of the awesome pics of everyone's baby, I have already changed my mind!
Since I'm here, does anyone have info on an Austin area owners group?

I'm from Austin. We don't have a MINI group here locally, however there is a car enthusiast group at www.hillcountrydrives.com . Also, there are MINI specific groups in San Antonio (lonestarminiclub.com) as well as the Metroplex area (www.metroplexmini.org) .

Seek professional help now. And lock up your credit cards. And don't ask anyone what a "PC" is and whether you need one. And find a hypnotist and have him condition you to ignore the terms "cold air intake" and "pulley".

Holy Lack Of Motoring, Batman !! We have about that many miles on each of our MINIs and they're both just 6 months old ! That one must have belonged to somebody who:
A) Worked from home
B) Spent 20 hours a day on NAM and 3 1/2 hours sleeping
C) Had another MINI that was their daily driver
D) Loved the car so much, they spent all their time admiring it instead of driving it
E) Was just plain nuts

He never owned a Mini, but he did own an Isetta, back in the 60s. Is there a Mini dealer in Austin?

No dealer in Austin. The closest is San Antonio, 80 miles away.
