Hi there...
Hi there...
Guess I ought to introduce myself...
We purchased our used Cooper a few weeks back, still have a grin on my face while driving. Haven't had this much fun since my CRX was on the road. We got a bit of a deal on the car as it needs some attention, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. The main reason was that I wanted something that would get 35+mpg for the wifey to drive as she communtes some 60 miles per day. She was considering something with an auto tranny
but thankfully, she likes the cooper enough that this shouldn't be an issue for a while.
I've already done a good deal of reading on these forums, lots of good info here. Did my first oil change the weekend we bought her and a coolant change last weekend. Gotta do the brakes in the spring, new tires then too, prolly a tranny fluid change.
But, the nice thing is that even though the old commuter car was a Rav4, my wife would still have to fill up the tank every 2-3 days, now she goes a week between fillups...well, assuming I don't put any miles on the thing.
Cool deal.

Heh, thanks.
Yeah, it really is for her
but you have to understand that my daily driver is a 10 year old Civic that's down on it's compression...or my other choices are my 1996 LR Discovery, which is our camping vehicle, or my 1970 rover...none of which I can take into a corner with any kind of confidence.
Specs? Nothing special yet...all stock, oh, well except for that PS fan shield doodad I slapped on last weekend. I figure it'll remain mostly stock until I take it over when it reaches the 120k mark or so...by then my Civic might have finally given up the ghost...
Pictures...yeah, have to clean the thing up and get a nice pose among the rovers...:impatient
