At 63, my wife will still not let me collect Social Security. Please, you young folks, make a lot of money--you will be paying for my Social Security. I am thankful that I can work and have fun making a difference. Oh, at 63 I still run between 40-50 miles a week (grand total--over 62,500 miles).

Depending on your financial situation, it could be in your better interests to take SS early.

Thanks--I will show this to my wife! Actually if you take it early--it restricts how much you can earn w/o paying a penalty--ie not getting as much per month (for me, that happens till I turn 66).

My hubby works as a production artist and studio manager for a design consultant who designs supermarkets and restaurants! I'm a fine artist whose main patron is my spouse.

Why is it when I need to get two things at the store, they are always at opposite ends ? Can either one of you two fix this please!

Nope....hubby's company doesn't design what goes on each of the aisles...just the colors/surfaces/lettering/signage/checkstand lights kind of things.

I'm pretty sure that those who do decide such things, put the absolute necessities around the back and sides of the store, meaning that customers have to go past less-necessary items to get to the "meat" of their shopping lists, to spur maximum impulse purchases. Product placement is a biggie!

Anyone else want to offer up what they do?
I think is incredible that you offered your help for free, like some one else said the need can be overwhelming and not all the people in need are hot chicks. Anyway I think is great and thanks so much for your offer.

I am 29 still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up and freaking out that my 30th birthday is coming up fast. I’ve been working in Accounting for 8 years now, I like my job it pays well and has allowed me a decent living. I think I need to go back to school and finish my degree…if anyone has a Tax question I can help I have lots of experience in Sales, Income and Property Tax.

Also I am currently writing an article for my local club newsletter, I would love to have a professional writer take a look at it and tell me what I need to change.
Thanks!

I am self employed. My husband and I own/operate a custom wood window manufacturing business. I do the drafting with AutoCAD and basically run the office. My '06 MCS is a "business" car.

I spent 10 years in the US Navy and in 2005 started trying to be a civilian. I am a Systems Administrator for a World Wide IT company. I love my job. I got all my experience while in the Navy and completed my undergrad and grad degree's in IT.
I am still getting used to this civilian life.

Is it true that preservation and restoration is a labor of love? I was looking into interior design and my main interest is preservation/restoration... they told me it's hard work... Kudos to you and good luck.

Another auto claims person here!

I am the salvage adjuster for a small auto insurance company (we only write in three states). I deal with the titles/lien releases and paperwork so we can sell the salvage of totaled vehicles. I also see lots of photos of smashed up cars. Haven't seen a totaled MINI yet, though. I'm sure it will make me sad to see one.

I took early retirement at age 63. You are right about the being restricted on how much you can make w/o paying a penalty. However i now only work 4-5
hours per day 5 days per week. The $ i make at this part time Job & my Social Security Check amount to nearly what i made when i had to work 40 +
hours per week & i pay no penalty. Very Happy.

I'm a graduate student working toward a PhD in Biology/Ecology.

If any MINI owner needs help getting their dwarf crayfish to breed or needs to know about bacterial symbionts of freshwater sponges, I'd be happy to offer my services for free as long as the number of requests doesn't get out of hand.

NOT a choice. My company is reorganizing and my position is transitioning to Charlottesville, VA. So... I go to Claims or take a small severance and leave the Company. I'll see how it goes for a while.

Yep, I might be crazy... we'll see.
