Didnt need a test drive...

Hello NAM!!! I've been a member for a while now and as such have followed many a thread and performed many a mod on my '05 MCS, but im just now getting around to actually posting a thread here. Kinda regret taking to so long, everyone i've encountered on NAM thus far has been super cool and very helpful...

Just wondering, is there anyone else out there who had the experience of buying their first new mini without a test drive, i mean besides all the factory order people? Im sure there are others like me out there...

We bought our first MINI back in 02' - site unseen - no test drive until it arrived and we drove it home... THE most fun we've had...

I bought mine, factory order, without a test drive of any kind. I did look at a couple of used models, but never even sat it one.

The test-drive is just a formality.

We did test drives before ordering each of ours. My wife wanted an auto so we first drove the MC CVT and decided it didn't have enough omph (especially with the AC on). Took a MCSa out and she loved it. Six months later, I took a MCS out for a test drive to see how the stick was and I was hooked!

We test drove an '05 MC convertible with the CVT. It was a blast, but since we needed to get an automatic, I wanted the extra horsepower offered by the S. (My wife refuses to learn how to drive a stick, and I didn't want her to rip the clutch out of my new car). We ordered an '06 MCSa convertible...still waiting for it to cross the pond. I still haven't driven an S. I just can't imagine that it's not as fun as the MC only more so...crossing fingers. I have intentionally avoided testing a manual tranny S, because I don't want to know what I'm missing. Those paddle shifters should still be pretty fun.
