Intro to me.

Just came in to introduce myself. My name is Mike, and I own a 91 integra. I was reffered here by OctaneGuy95. I am currently in the hiring process for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller. Since I live in the Pasadena area, and the job I applied for is in Palmdale I have been looking at new cars to let my Integra have a rest. I have been looking into the MINI because from what I hear, the handling is awesome. And for anyone who is in the LA area and knows the crest, they know I will need something along this line. My Integra has been GREAT to me so far. Maintainence, Gas, Handling, availability of aftermarket parts are all great. Besides the MINI I have been looking into the WRX Wagon, and the new AUDI wagon, not sure what its called yet, might just be the A4 wagon. (I just saw one the other day on the road, and thats what caught my eye.) So I'll probably just be lurking around these boards, trying to get up to date on the MINI and different aspects of this vehicle, and help my research for a new car. Hope to see you guys around!

is it really a very stressfull job to be an ATC? anyway, there is a big difference between the two wagons and the MINI. If you have a family, then you should go with the bigger car, but then you already have the Integra. You need to find your way in between traffic and find that tight parking spot and not commute around in a "wagon"!!! make your trip more joyfull to work and go with the MINI, it is worth every cent you spend on it. I forget all my work stresses as soon as I jump in the MINI and put on Ministry of Sound . try to get a test drive, I'm sure you'll like it.

Well my dad is an ATC. He used to tell me that it was as stressfull as any other job. But now things are changing and he is getting tired of it and I think he really is getting stressed. I am trying to plan ahead, so depending on what I think my near future will be, that is how I would plan on making a decision. I am only 23 right now, so no family. I plan to test drive all of them hopefully that will help me.

Welcome to NAM, mschoelen! Have you test-driven all the cars you are interested in? Be warned: once you drive a MINI, you will LOVE it!

The other cars you are considering are fine, but when you get a MINI, you not only get a great car, you become part of a fantastic community!

I was wrong about the AUDI, I was interested in the SAAB 9-2X AWD. I just saw it the other day, and was distracted by the car, I didn't see the SAAB sign.

I am planning to go and test drive these cars, get a feel for what will fit me, and what is comfertable. I am hesitating to drive the MINI, because I don't want to like it so much, that I find a budget to buy it.

Having owned a '97 Integra GSR, I can assure you that the MCS is a heck of a lot more fun to drive. The MCS handles much better.
