Hi !!!
Been rumaging around in the forum for a bit now, lots of great info. As I need help on getting tires for my MCS I thought I would introduce myself here first.
Got a MCS JCW late last year after a long 2+ years romance with the test drive cars at the local dealership. A very expensive decision but one of my best.
Both my wife and I owned original Mini's. Her's was 70's something white 1000cc Mini that unfortunately died not long after she got it. I had a 77 Clubman (I think that's what it was called, boy it was long time ago!) with a bored out 1275, around 1380cc (measured it once during a head gasket change). It was a great car for an 18 year old student. Went like a rocket up to about 50mph, however, over 80mph and it was "death grip" on the steering wheel
. Even though I practically replaced everything on it, if finally died a 5 years later (couldn't get it to pass the British MOT due to rust, much more strict that CA Smog testing). Until our JCW we have been Mini-less!!
Our new JCW is a blast. My commute is a mountain road and I find myself switching off traction control regularly as it interferes too much.
Anyway, Hi to all. Off to the tire pages to post some questions on replacement tires and spare donuts or flowerpots (whatever you call them).
