Another New Owner....
OK, so I am not exactly new to the Mini world, but I am new to the MINI world.
I bought a (used) 2005 MCs a couple of months ago, and have managed to put about 8K miles on it already. Originally bought as a daily-driver with my weekend fun car being an MR2 Spyder, it has become the only car I actually want to drive, the Spyder is gathering dust at the moment...
My Mini history goes back about 25 years, my first mini was a 1972 Mini 1000 which went through many itterations of engines, gearboxes, suspension, seats etc before I gave it to my brother to learn in...
The next Mini was a Mini '25' which gained a 1380cc motor, jack knight SC box Spax adjustables, Hi Lo's and a Safety Devices cage. I hill climbed this for a while but sold it to buy a house.
Next up was a 1977(?) 1275GT in black, sadly this one met its maker when I left the road at very high speed, rolling many times into a field, I was fairly lucky to survive the crash (roll cage/buckets/harness thanksfully) .....
Plans for my MCS include ditching the heavy wheels/run flats (I just ordered (17lb 17" wheels and tires) for 'local' and track day driving followed by suspension work (still undecided on the approach at the moment), although this will be dependent on the changes that non-run-flats give me to ride quailty and over-all handling. I storngly beleive in performing modifications in serial. I have already installed XM and a BT GPS until which talks to my PDA (stashed in a neat holder in luie of the cup holder), and the AUX in for my iPod.
I have lurked for a long time and would like to retrospectively thank everyone that helped me to make my purchase an informed one, oh and also on the XM direct installation installation too

I think that swapping engines in this on on a saturday night (our record time was a little under two hours start to finish) is next to impossible, not to mention something that I absolutely do not want to try......
Thanks
Max
Hey MaxN. I think your MINI is a repulsive atrocity!
Just kidding, I would never say something so negative. There is no pic anyways. Rock on.
