Touch Up Paint

Does Mini offer touch Up Paint with new car purchases? If not, where is the best place to get some?

No they don't. but you can purchase it right at the parts department where you got the car from. is not expensive.

A month ago when I bought some touch-up paint at MINI of Mountain View, the parts guy said that MINI was not shipping touch-up paint until they complete a re-labeling process. I got the last unit of BRG touch-up paint that they had in stock. Don't know if the re-labeling is complete or not, but until it is (complete), stock is whatever is on the shelf at the dealer. If you need touch-up paint and the dealer is out of stock, try a body & paint shop. With the paint code, a good paint shop can mix up a batch that is the same as what the dealer would have sold.

We've got a good paint shop... and its reasonably priced. Let us know if you need some... we'd happily send it on!

I use Auto Visuals. They make a pen that is easy to use and works great. I've got one for all my cars and you can get a clear coat pen also.

I have been real curious how the pen concept works on vertical surfaces (like the front of the car - I have some rock impacts that have exposed the primer underneath). Any experience (on touching up vertical surfaces with the pen) you would care to share?

Thanks for the info, my chips are also on the front of the Bonnet and bumper cover, any info on the Pen and ease of use on vert surfaces. Oh, yes I do realize all I have to do is open the bonnet and I will have a horiz. surface, ha ha!

That works for the bonnet, but sadly, not the bumper area.

It does if you've got a few wrenches and an ****-retentive nature WRT touch ups!

Personally, I've embraced the MINI mantra of 'rock chips are like cool scars' philosophy...

I just picked up some Astro Black yesterday from the dealer (had to order) for like $16 and change. 2 tubes; paint & clear, From experience ya need to be really careful applying it. Think Nail polish...

Moss Mini is a great source for most things Mini. Including factory touch-up paint. Plus their catalogs are perfect to send to all your family and friends who don't know what to get you for Christmas or your birthday. Easy....I just want a few small items from the Moss Mini Catalog.
