In another side note, I was pumping gas at the Chevron next to Irvine MINI today and guess what pulls up next to me. A brand new GP!!! This is the first time I've ever seen a GP in person, and it's even more impressive in person than in the pictures. What an amazing car. It just looks so fast!!!

Little help?

Howdy,

Does anyone have a copy of the "mind meld" email that they could email to me? My MA has never heard of it, the sales manager has never heard of it, and now the service advisor has never heard of it.

Thanks in advance!

Here is Merlin with his Window tint, clear bra, badge and PIAA5430s. I would love to hang around and chat but it's time to go motoring.

I hit 1250 last night around midnight. I pulled over and took a picture But it's still on my camera, which is in my parcel shelf.

I'm so jealous of all you that went to the auto-x!! I'm going to have to come down for one!

I'm hitting 900. I went with 30% tint all around, and 5% (limo) tint on the sunroof. I am sooo happy with my tint. Especially the limo tint on the sunroof. I can see out, but the sun isn't burning down on my head.

Kissmys, Eenimini, we need pictures. I will post new photo's of Sassy when we get time to install our driving lights. So much work, so little time.

I'll get Moe's pics taken and up as soon as I can. I am installing stripes and stuff this weekend and tint possible Thurs or Fri but most likely postponed to next week.. wahhhh but Life happens.

We picked up Moe at the VERY end of the evening when all was said and done so I didn't get any pics at the dealer... He was in detail/cleaning until we drove away. Nothing like taking the first ride in a new car in the dark! But that was my choice I could have come back today to get him, I just couldn't make myself drive away without him!

JJ Merlin looks fantastic!! They were releasing 2 red coopers when I was doing my papers and such and there were no blues in sight... I kept saying to myself, I was going to get that color, look how sharp.... but then they pulled Moe in and it was like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH yes.. Hyper Blue!

Minx!

There's so much to say... you've all been there. I'm in love with a car. They kept me in the showroom it seemed forever doing paper work and such while the detailers were finishing. No Minx in sight. Then suddenly she shows up at the front door and they roll her in. I melt. It all feels like a dream. Decadent, delicious and oh, so fun!

So here are a few pics. I was so giddy most of them are out of focus. On the way home Michael had me follow him to a house where he was checking out a fishing boat he found on Craig's list that he'll probably buy. So the one of Minx parked outside is in the east bay. The lady at that house had an older Carrera for her "toy" and was totally enamored with my MINI.

My oldest daughter still hasn't seen it and doesn't know about it yet due to a migraine. I'll show up at my mom's today for her surprise... my youngest went berzerk! Now she really thinks I'm the bomb! We cranked up her iPod and cruised thru McD's at 9:00 last night. I couldn't remember how to roll the window down to order!!! It's all so NEW!

Today I pick up my plates (decided on the "KS MI S" instead of NANOKAR — couldn't resist all the meanings and attitude; so much more me ), we already installed the M7 STS (no brainer) and tomorrow to the tinter. One little bit of bad news. The dealer's clear bra installer did a sloppy job and they are going to do it completely over... another trip to Pleasanton.

Eenie — I got your "hi" message from Blair and saw your name on the appt. board so knew you'd be in some time soon. They wouldn't let me see Moe and it was only right you got to see him first... can't wait to see pics! I'll take better ones once the tint is done and I can hold my hand steadier!!!

JJ — I absolutely LOVE the driving lights on Merlin! I took the laptop out to show Minx and she is smitten. Now we're really in trouble!

THANK YOU everyone for being there for Minx and me! Now the fun really begins!!!

Gorgeous! Yeah Blair was pretty funny.. I was the last one out of there yesterday. I have to go back for my gadgets because the parts depot was closed by the time I took possession (need my shift **** and my floor mats). They also "forgot" to do my mind meld so my key doesn't always do what I want (re: running lights, windows, locks) so I'll be back for that too.

No pics yet but for sure later today... I didn't even have a chance to show it off yet... plan on leaving work early today!

No wonder Minx and Merlin have a thing going on. On the outside they appear to be identical except for body color. What wheels do you have? Man that is one big Scottsman you married. How does he like the fit in the cabin?
Merlin put on his eyes just to show off to Minx, they still have to be wired in. Do you think if we got Merlin and Minx together we could get a bunch of baby MIN........nah, that would be to easy.

Ahhhhh... So much emotion, but the biggest one is just so so so so grateful to have my car. here are pictures of moms and me, and just of Billy by himself.

Unfortunatly, I was so excited I didn't realize I look like cousin It. What's there to do, my mom and I are fros
Now, for the good news - the stripes were supposed to be white with black pin, and something was wrong with a computer chip in the transmission, so they ended up waiving the $500 mark up, gave mats, and as agreed earlier, stripes were comped and installed for free. Woo-hoo! Also got the last 4 packs of mini-mints, which was really my concern. He he. We're all parents now!!!! You guys have been so much help.

Wow! It is such a pleasure to hear about the deliveries of all the MINIs and see all the pictures! Although I'm looking forward to taking delivery of the Lotus, my heart still skips a beat every time I see a new picture of a MINI that is finally home. Congrats to all of you. I'll stay in touch.

Kissmys, MLWagner, Climbergirl and others in the CA region, if that BBQ we had planned on having somewhere in between NorCal and SoCal will materialize, I hope I'm still invited -- maybe by then I'll have my Elise to drive down in (and I'll park it last in line, if it is welcomed! ).

Cheers, everyone!

JJ- Nice to finally see Merlin in good hands. Nice badge. Never seen one mounted on the lower grill before.

KMS- Love the Royal Gray! Minx is in good hands. I was going to make some crack about Kansas, Michigan and Stuttgart, but I "get" yout plate. I like it better than NANOKAR.

eenie- More Moe. Waana see those stripes!

yonahleyah- Another sweet RG/S. With Holies for cousin It. They're altogether ookie!

CG- I'm "shocked" you haven't picked up the FSDs yet.

Yes, It's humpday, and I'm feeling it. Off to get a pint.

Happy Motoring all!

handn- The badge is actually mounted between the upper and lower grill. That way it does not interfere with airflow. I made a custom no screws mount for it. I've always wanted a classic gear badge.

Kissmys and eenie- Merlin is thinking of starting up a Harem, is Sassy in CG? Way to many good looking ladies and were not just talking the MINIs . Minx is the perfect name, she looks like a Minx. I can't wait to see Moe after she has all of her makeup on.

yonahleyah- Tell Billy to keep his handsome wheels off Merlins ladies. Man that boy has a nice tan.

Wonderful and creative MINIs all. Huazzah to the W3606 Mystic MINIs. Are all of them home now or do we still have more comming?

Oh, no worries JJ. If you could only see Billy sitting outside in the street right now. He has his Noah cover on, and the antenna part makes him soooo embarassed. I don't think he'll be approaching anyone until he grows out of this awkward adolescence and moves into his own garage.
This is from Gromit801's cover... Billy's looks like this, only Much, Much bigger

Checking in after 2 days of motoring...

Still in love with Minx. Have 230 mi. on odometer already. Haven't had my first MINI wave yet, but I have noticed a BIG increase in the number of smiles Minx elicits whereever we go. I don't know if it is a response to my constant grin or just how very cute she is... but other drivers and pedestrians alike give me a sparkly smile when we meet. Maybe I'm just euphoric.

JJ — my big Scottish husband fits beautifully in the cabin, but we need to make major adjustments when trading driver places. ("Did you put this seat up or somethin'? I don't remember my head touching the roof...") I too love your badge location. Care to share details on how you rigged it up? I still need to get the magnetic holder. My dealer is working on getting me one... Oh, and Minx sends her best to Merlin and isn't sure about the harem idea. She is a very selfish one you know...

Yonah — It is so cool to see another RG/S sister. Love your stripes! You got a good deal... great picture of you and your mom!

Handn — funny thing happened at the DMV (on the way to the forum) that changed the plate course completely around. The plates were made incorrectly (some prisoner just couldn't "get it" that day) and they left out the space between MI and S... then they told me it couldn't be done but they could give me half spaces which wouldn't be that readable. SOOO, I ended up with NANOKAR after all! (they had also been delivered due to my mistaken, uncancellable double order) I hope you can learn to appreciate Minx with the NANO plate. We live in one of the "highest" tech industrial areas in No. CA (very Nano savvy.) Both Minx and I are very small and Minx is probably going to be able to behave herself more if she isn't sporting a potential road rage/red neck challenging kind of plate (wouldn't be a problem so much if Michael was driving but I'm a lover, not a fighter...) So in the end I guess it's all for the best. Yes?

Powerband — Of course you and your Lotus will be welcome! After all, you will end up with a MINI some day I'm sure! Meanwhile, the more the merrier...

eenieMini — Moe is soooo decked out all ready; I can't wait to see the hibiscus decor when he's all done. Quite the dude. You'll be getting smiles for miles! Going in for tint tomorrow morning. CG talked about being really happy with limo tint on the sunroof and I'm definitely doing that! Today was in the 80's and really hot.

ClimberGirl — Thanks for the heads up on the tinting you got. This thread is so valuable! And I get my check mailed from Alliant CU tomorrow; so easy and a great rate! AND I joined my daughter's high school PTA to be ligit (didn't even know they had one in H.S.) Thought you might like to know that a substitute PT worked on my lame shoulder last week (reg. guy went fishing in Costa Rica) and she specializes in shoulders. Awesome progress; different deep tissue muscle work. Perhaps surgery and shots are totally out of the picture now. I am doing my exercises faithfully (crazy cornering with Minx isn't exactly helping — but I can't stop myself!) and if she was right, I might be all better in 6 weeks.

Hi All PW36ers... hope everyone is happily motoring. I've been watching all the great deliveries. I'm hoping Grover will be here this Friday (because weekend motoring would be so cool) or Monday at the latest...

hope you don't mind a question from a nosy PW38er: this ever-popular financing through Alliant. Is this a PTA and/or California only finance company? I'm in Tennessee, but was previously (and may be again) in California. Still have my Cali license, too! So far, the best rate I'm getting is through a Teacher's Credit Union here at 5.74% for 60 months. And my credit score is 764!

I may try the contact that was listed earlier in this forum (Marlene), but wanted to know if anyone knew if I would even be eligible. I did see the previous questions about this, including this answer:

thanks for any thoughts about this!
