Maybe that timeline is right - my car began production July 24th, entered the body shop July 30th, and isn't scheduled to be complete until August 15th - it looks like they ALMOST finished it, stalled for the shutdown, and will actually finish when the plan reopens. Drat!

Quote: Great investigation work, Climbergirl!!

That clears up a few questions. But why would yours be pushed back? Mine hasn't even hit the production line yet (as of 8/9) and I was quoted 36th week.

You ordered before me I know.
Dave, where are you? It's that wonderful Socal syndrome as I like to refer to it. AkA dealer production allotment. I ordered 8/1. I knew that it was a sept production date with a nov/dec delivery date. To me, (also known as the kgb) I thought, hmm.... those numbers do not add up. Week 36 is what the first full week of sept? My MA said my delivery date may be sooner. I guess I will wait and see. ooooo I hate waiting.:impatient

Katherine.. does that mean you get the first new paint job? Hmm.. I wish my car was waiting for paint.

It'd be super awesome if Stella got the first fresh coat of Hyper Blue paint when things get rolling again - who knows! I'm just thankful that you got to the bottom of things, I feel much better.

As was said, excellent sleuthing!

My understanding from various sources, including a guy I know who works at BMW Car magazine in the UK, is that it is a two week partial shutdown starting August 1. This is for re-tooling related to the 2007's. As far as I have been told, production for the two weeks has been slowed by about 50% (that's why people got knocked back a week with their production weeks ). On the dealer network end in the US I'm sure they are just coverig their whatnots by giving later or longer dates.

For those of you given a Week 36 production date you might want to call 866-ASK-MINI. They just informed me that I no longer have a Week 36 production date and that I probably won't be assigned one until September.

Still Week 36
I just called Mini and I'm still scheduled for week 36. Foomanchu, who initially told you about week 36? Was it Mini or was it your MA? Best of luck to you.

It was both the MA and 866-ASK-MINI several weeks ago.

Called the MA today and was told I am still Week 36 and he's not sure what they are talking about.

Hmmmmmm

Week 36 here. I'm in my third week of waiting, and although the production date is beyond my control, I'm taking it one day at a time. It has been hard and when I want to hit the bottle I come here and get support from you, my Week 36 family.

Don't believe anything they tell you. I was originally told our MINI would be produced in Week 31 but it continues to be pushed out. We began this journey on 26 June. So far we have been pushed out to Week 34 with no confirmed start date. So frustrating...

I confirmed that the factory was totally shut down for two weeks and our production date, originally Week 31, first week of August has slipped to Week 34 at the moment with another possible slip.

I called yesterday (8/16) and got confirmation that production is still on schedule for week 36'rs. First week in September.

She said production will start in about a week. I've read that from start to finish it takes roughly a week to complete. So the numbers add up if you include the "cover their @$$" time.

Hey, I have a question for you guys! MINIusa said that they like to "clump" like cars together during production. I have a production number, but no date. So, my poll is "what type of MINI did you order?"

I just got my production number, entered it in, and says its on order. I ordered it a week ago. On long island, we dont hack geekiness so theynever bothered giving it to me until I had to ask. I still do not know when its going to be produced. IS there anyway to find out by another means? The website is like in stages and no dates from what I see.

Car: MC-S, BRG/BRG, Chromeline Exterior, Black leathette seating, Chromeline interior, Anthracite dash/trim, anthracite headliner, stock 16's, LSD, DSC.... hm... that's about it.

I SOoOOOooooo cannot wait to get it. It appears I have to wait for a long or unknown time. I should call that 888 number I guess. Maybe then I can figure on what production week I will be in ?

JJ Blue, your MINI will continue to show "On Order" in the Owners' Lounge until it actually goes into production and possibly for a couple of days after. Our MINI entered production yesterday per a message from our MA and the Owners' Lounge is still showing the status as "On Order"

MCS, barebone + LSD.

Won't stay that way, though. Planning on:

- suspension upgrade
- rear sway bar
- lighter wheels
- 15% reduction supercharger pulley

Oh, and a 35% tint.
