Hello to all,
My name is Larry, and I've been lurking here for about 6 weeks learning about the Mini. I was preparing to place an order for a new Mini and got very lucky when I found a used '06 MCS here in the Houston area w/only 950 mi. on it. Yeah!
And it was equipped w/ the JCW pkg. Instead of having to wait for 2-3 mos. I had the chance for instant gratification and was able to save a few dollars to boot. My "Toy" is a solid Royal Grey Metallic w/ sport cloth (SG/Panther black),DSC,front and rear fogs, xenon headlamps w/wash,LSD, multi-function steering wheel w/cruise, JCW tuning kit, auto a/c, and H-K sound system. Not alot different than how I was going to order anyway. I have put about 1300 mi. on it in the last 3+ weeks and have enjoyed every minute of it. Evidently some poor guy had it taken away from him by his parents for poor performance at school.
I look forward to meeting some of you and learning what mods to do on "Toy". I've already jumped on the the group buy here yesterday for the engine damper and I'm researching new tires and wheels to swap-out the run flats. It appears to be a great site w/some very sharp members and look forward to sharing some good times and ideas.

Thanks for the input about HMMS! I knew there had to be a Mini club somewhere around here! I will definitely check it out I still have so many questions about this machine and where to go??

Hmmm...I'd like to know the history of that car. I ordered a seemingly identical unit last September at MOTW. After 3 delays for the JCW package, I gave up and ordered the same combo sans JCW. I'm pretty sure Aka went ahead and ordered the original car for stock. We'll have to compare notes at a future HMMS meeting.

Well the car did come from MOTW. I believe it was delivered in mid to late Feb. '06 sold to a person in the Katy area. i believe it was registered in March. I purchased it mid -May w/ 950 mi. on it. Small world. But you can't have it back now
