Can't wait!

Of course, next to the clothilicious seats in the Protege5, anything's an improvement. Even airline seats compare favorably...

I'm getting my clear bra/invisishield installed this afternoon but should be home early enough to get pictures tonight of my new MINI. I'll post them later tonight or tomorrow.

Hello all!

Good news! I've scheduled a delivery date for Jake!

I went to the dealership today to get an idea of what my trade-in is worth. Spent quite a bit of time with my new MA, Greg. Cool guy and right on top of all the details.

Anyway, he said that with the AB arriving at PH on the 9th (or 10th) the car should be ready for delivery by the 16th! WOW!

I can't believe it could truck here so fast. I have to keep in mind this is if everything else goes smoothly. But, I know they never want to overpromise and under deliver. So, he must be pretty comfortable with that date.

Btw, I opted for the clear bra as well. Got a lot of input from current owner's who say they wish they would have sooner. That is, of course, if you're even willing to consider it on YOUR MINI.

I also got to experience (briefly) the English Panther leather seats. Wow...they are SEXY!! Greg said it is a "must" in his next MINI which will be all one color...either British Racing Green or Pure Silver. Hmmm...I think if I had to pick ONE solid color with just those choices, I would go with Pure Silver!

That's it for now. Seems like a bit of a lull in PW27SG. But with more deliveries on the way and more motoring adventures...well, more pics, more stories!

One more thing, did anyone else register for MTTS? I did and think I (based on the AWESOME early delivery date) will be able to motor up to Flagstaff and catch part of it. According to the kit, 6000 will be participating. Wow...I thought it was only about 4000. ONLY 4000! The kit is pretty nifty. Thought it was my secret decoder book thingy. Anyone get that yet?

OK...I'm finished.

I installed my bra this evening for my trip to Florida tomorrow. It actually looks kinda cool on there, and I have NEVER said that about a bra before. I'm already over 650 miles and by the time I write on here again I will have 2000 or more. I've enjoyed every single mile so far though and know I will enjoy the rest too.

To those of you that are still waiting... it is SOOOOO worth it! You'll enjoy it so much that you'll forget how long you waited to finally get that inaugural drive. I can already tell, I found a friend for life in BLISS!

Drew

SWEET, Red! That's only... mmm, take the square root... carry the three.. THIRTEEN days from now! The goal line is in sight! That'd be a real nice fast VDC/truck turnaround - I hope it works out that way for you.

I hope the turnaround will be that fast for my mini. Last time I called her, she said it takes up to two weeks to get from Pt Hueneme to Salt Lake City. I'm probably going to be in SLC on the 17th and 18th for a conference, so I'm really hoping it'll get there by then.

Yes, I signed up for Charlottesville, VA to Washington DC and Washington DC to Jersey City, NJ. Got the MTTS packet in the mail today. Really pretty neat stuff in there.

The decoder stuff didn't show up yet, though I've gotten two mails from MINIUSA stating that I'll be receiving it. My better half got hers about 2 weeks ago though, but she's also had her MINI since last September. I will say that it prompted an immediate trip to a local bookstore.

My MA originally said 7-10 days from port to dealership. I think they do that to keep our expectations low and then WHAM you get your MINI earlier than first thought and are WAY happy. You'll have yours by then...I just feel it.

Yep, I already have a magazine. But I never received any "promise" emails. Oh well, more MINI fun to wait for!

I registered for the MTTS event (last two legs) and I received the kit yesterday. It's pretty cool--it even includes a journal-type book to record stuff along the way.

Has anyone received that famous "black box" kit in the mail yet?

Here's a pic of Dash just because.

I haven't touched the spreadsheet in a while. Let me know if your info needs to be updated! It's the home stretch for the Auto Banner folks!

Buddha is such a blast to drive! The English Panther seats just get better and better with each drive.

Is anyone else getting phenomenal gas mileage? I am AVERAGING 34 mpg with a mix of city and country roads (not even highway)?

Only 5-6 hours until I learn if I'm taking delivery tomorrow or not.

The wait is killing me! I have a busy day at work, and don't know how I'm going to get through it because I'm in no state to be productive!

My MA told me two to three weeks to get from Charleston to San Antonio, when in reality it was closer to 2-3 days.

Keep your hopes up!
