Finally Motoring!

Hello all. I finally purchased a MINI after many months of looking. I ended up getting an 05 MCSC and love it...with one exception.
Every time I enter a store with the alarms at the door, the key would set off the alarm. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?
It's very embarrassing...I feel like everyone is thinking I shoplifted something. But the store alarm is set off when I ENTER and EXIT!
Who else has this problem and what can I do?
Thanks in advance.

Leave your keys in the car? Just kidding ... couldn't resist.

Sorry to hear about all the trouble.
