Hi~I just got my Mini Cooper S in November! I love it! It is a 2003 Indi Blue with white top, stripes, and mirrors. I am new to the world of Mini, so I don't really know where to start at. I am in Ohio and I would love to hear about any Mini events or news in the area! Looking forward to learning lots of new stuff!!

Wow-looks like I am in good company!! Thanks for all the responses! I am about 45 mins away from Columbus! Anybody going to the British Car Day in Dublin this weekend?? Or the Mini Cooper Fun Run Road Rally???

 

Central Ohio area here. ETA: 2 weeks!

 

I'll hopefully be attending the MINI Road Rally on July 29th at Cincinnati MINI. Should be loads of fun.

Thanks for all the great welcomes! My husband and I are planning on going to the Mini Road Rally also! It sounds like a lot of fun!

 

It SHOULD be fun...but I doubt it will. Why? Because sadly, I cannot drive my MINI in it....what crap is that? Since I'm not 18 I guess I cannot "register" and I guess I cannot drive. If I do decide to register, my friend will be driving and I guess I'll be co-driving, in MY MINI!!!! What a load of crap.

Anyone know a way around this? Hopefully I'm getting a job at Cincinnati MINI soon....so maybe I'll get to drive, but just "bend" the rules a little?

Edit* After re-reading the registration form, will I be allowed to motor with you all, but just not compete? Or do I HAVE to compete to ride along?

 

Yes Cody that stinks. I'm sure there's a good reason, more than likely it's insurance. Even though you'd like to switch & drive after you register, don't. If something bad happened God forbid, the organizers butts would be in the wringer. You'll have fun anyway.

Don't hold me to it, but i'm pretty sure if you arent 18 you just need a parent/gaurdian's signature. That's atleast what i did at another track back when i was under 18 in my MINI.

 

I think we crossed paths a month ago. Was it you I saw on Portage path? I was sitting at the light heading to Akron Peninsula Rd. Oh yes better give a discription.....old guy in a new Hyper Blue/ White MCS.

 

Sorry to hear about that. It does stink that you won't be able to drive your own car. Have you talked to the owner's at Scenic Road Rallies? Is there possibly a way to drive if you get a parent/guardian release? If not I still think you can have fun! I am thinking about being the co-captain in my car and letting my husband drive. That way I can be on the look out for the scavernger hunt items! Hope you get an answer and are able to attend the rally! It would be great to have another Indi Blue MCS there!
