There are tons of great MINI places. I got my small pile of stuff from Classic MINI (they are sponsors of this site and have their own forum). They usually give a NAM discount also. They are a dealership and sell the standard MINI accessories plus some stuff that isn't necessarily listed (such as the mirror and euroshelf).

If you do get the euroshelf don't order the rubber insert, it's a 40 dollar piece of rubber you can make yourself from a couple cheap mousepads.

The rear bumper protector is pretty dissapointing as well. 40 bucks or so for a thin vinyl strip with an install kit. Prolly have to do it though, unless you feel like cutting your own and that would be a pain.

The autodim rearview mirror pretty much has to come from MINI as there's a Receiver for your key in it. If you order it you don't have to get the garage door opener which is nice.

The magnetic rock guards are a bit expensive for what you get but considering they are custom cut to fit the MINI it's not too bad. Beginning to wonder about paint damage with them though.

 

no hurricanes at this time of the year. That starts in the latter part of the summer. Usually by july or august. so i don't think you have to worry about any hurricanes comin and sinkin ur MINI off the boat before it gets to this side.

 

You think I would know that. I lived in Florida for 8 years. I think I am just mentally preparing for all possible disasters so I am not dissappointed if something does happen.

 

I just spoke with Mini and my car was completed on June 3rd, Wahooo!
The CS rep said that it was at the port of exit, so it might be on a ship now, or if not now very soon, and that I should check the website on Monday for updates.
I ordered a PWMS/B just about every option, so I am very excited to get it home.
Does anyone know if the ships deliver all the Mini's to the East coast? I live outside of Portland so if they come to the West coast it might be quicker for me.

Hi Maryanne. Actually, all the west coast cars are delivered to the LA area and then trucked to the dealers. My car was finished June 1st, and is already on a boat, so yours may be as well. What does your online status say? It's hard to track the west coast cars, but my MA thinks mine will hit LA at the end of June.

 

i just got off the phone with MINI. My MINI completed assembly yesterday and is now at the port of exit awaiting transport. My MINI is sitting at the port now!!!! At this time yesterday it was going through a final assembly quality check.

Hey miniprof, any idea what ship you're on? My car was finished 6/2, and as I recall we were both dissed by the Toronto, so hoping maybe I'm on the boat with you, even tho' OL and the voice still say 'awaiting transport'... My MA doesn't seem to return call/emails ???

 

I just checked all the boat schedules, and i'm booked on the Courage to leave tomorrow!! I also checked the schedule, the Courage is supposed to end up in Charleston, SC on the 24th. But on the way there is stopping by Port NY to drop my baby off on the 19th!!!! I'm really excited now. That's not far away at all.

Ok, so Bluminiboy, we are traveling together! I'm slated to leave on the Courage tomorrow as well. We'll drop you off in NJ and then I will continue to Charleston. MINI should be arrive on 6/24 then start its drive to sunny Florida.

A little spending theorpy yesterday. Spent $410 of Classic in Cleveland. Then $110 at griots.com. The MINI better get here soon or I am not going to have enough money to get it!!!

 

What does this mean? Kim, is this one vessel and those are all the ports it hits? If that's true, then I wonder if my car will be unloaded at Baltimore (would be nice since that's where my dealer is), but if that's true, the 21st is pushing my deadline pretty close. I wonder when the next boat will hit Baltimore.

I guess I don't understand the whole shipping aspect of this yet.

 

She was just listing all of the boats that were leaving by that shipping company. Remember this isn't all MINI's and BMW's anymore.

The only two stops for our MINI's is either Charleston, SC or NY. And since you are in the state of maryland, that means your MINI will more than likely be dropped off in NY just as mine.

 

Hey cooperminis. I think I'm on the Lyra Leader as it's the only ship that left around the same time as the Toronto. It's rather mysterious - my MA says that he doesn't have shipping information - only that it has shipped. Hopefully your MA will get back to you.

 

What I listed was for the ship Courage and it drops Minis off at NY and SC only.

Maryanne, it's hard to find out when you're going to the west coast, as the shipping line MINI uses for west coast vehicles doesn't have an online tracking system. Your best bet is your MA - although mine was only able to tell me that I am on a ship, but didn't tell me which one.

 

Well it's the 10th and I'm still not listed. It still says I'm in enroute and adjusting to it's sea wheels. I don't know what to think anymore. MA isn't responding back, the cargo tracking for WW shipping says there's no history of my vehicle.

Bah.

 

Well, at least you're showing out to sea somewhere! I would love to get to that next step, I'm still showing (OL & Voice) awaiting transport. Maybe you just got on one of our west coast ships that don't show tracking info... most of them make stops at the other two VDCs also.

 

It looks like the Courage has set sail for North America, or is about to, depending on which website you look at. However, I'm not sure if I made the boat! I still show up with the dreaded * (asterisks) after my VIN. Apparently, this means I'm waitlisted??!

Any thoughts? If I missed the Courage does anybody know when the next ship leaves for SC? I dread the thought of having to wait even longer...

 

How do you know for sure if you're on the boat? According to the website I was slated to be on the Courage and I see its out to sea. The info seems pretty vague, but at least if its truly out there it should be in Charleston on 6/24. I just hope my MINI is being offered plenty of Boat Drinks to help it cope with the 2 week voyage...What time is the shuffleboard tournament?
