Eeeks! I feel your pain. Really. But, they'll get it sorted out. Not to worry.

Yea, I'm sorry to say that it's not going to work out. We have relatives coming to town that week, although we're dying to get the car, I think we need to be in town this week. Hope you have a great drive back, post up and let me know what root you took and how your drive was. Also, let me know where the better hotels are at.

Thanks, Mayim.. you want me to say hey to your MA?? I'll put on my stealth gear, and poke around in the dark recesses for your MINI.
Unfortunately, I won't get to drive it tonight.. Dorcia is bringing it home while I go to the Slippery Noodle to see the Nighthawks...
Good luck!

Picked up our MINI

at D&R yesterday evening.

Our delivery experience, unlike Mayim's was probably the best we've ever had. Very thorough, and showed us.. I think.. about all of the features of the car. Paperwork went smoothly, and they stayed until after closing to make sure we were satified with everything before we left. Our MA, and the sales manager, sorry I don't remember his name.. the guy with the English accent.. were very cordial. Just goes to show ya..

My sweetie brought it home. I didn't get to drive it until this morning. She said, " don't get busted for exceeding the fun limit..>
Kool car.

Chuck, looks good! I'm glad one of us went through smoothly! Yeah, I'm sure there are a few DSs on the lot, but probably not mine. Thanks for looking! Enjoy!

No free mats? WTF?

NICE, Chuck!! Congratulations!

I have a question, though: When your MA went over every feature on the car with you, was there anything that was said that you wouldn't have figured out on your own easily? I've already paid for the car, and am just waiting for it to get to me by truck/train...so I won't have the luxury of getting the "orientation" with my MA. Just curious....

No. You get an owner's manual, ferheavensake.. It just makes it easier to take off in traffic if you know where all the bells and whistles are. Besides that, there's a thread here on NAM that tells all kinds of things that your MA may or may not Know..
BTW, We're getting a few miles on it now, just took it on a short trip yesterday, and WE LOVE THIS CAR! Coming home last night in a light rain, we couldn't have felt more comfortable or secure. Handles great. Exhaust note/engine sounds are just right. Transmission shifts like butter. Lights are excellent. The interior at night looks very elegant. What fun!
When we got home, my wife said, "we really did good, didn't we.."

I'm picking my baby up from Classic Mini in Cleveland on Friday. It's been ready to be picked up since last Friday but I have to wait until the 19th! I'm excited but it seems far away!

Anyone else take delivery yet? I'm still waiting on mine to get to me from train/truck...so I also eagerly wait to read other people's deliveries; they keep me distracted from my growing impatience. The "on paper" estimated date for my MCS to reach Washington State is on the 28th of this month. Ugh! That's Memorial Day weekend. The transport company told me not to expect it until the 30th or after.

I just came home and waiting for me was a FedEx package; in it were keys to the car and all the owner's manual stuff! This'll distract me for another week while I wait.

I picked up my new toy (CoB/B MCSC) yesterday! Everything went really great about IT, we were out of the dealer in less than an hour. When we got there he was sitting in the showroom, the cleanest and shiniest car I've ever seen! (My first NEW car!) They had put a sign up that said "please don't touch, I'm going home with my new owner today." That was nice because I knew people hadn't been climbing in and out all week. Our MA, Bill, went over the car with me, my husband took some pictures (honestly, how often do you see your car sitting in a showroom, we had to do it!) and we were on our way. Unfortunately it was raining and 50 in Cleveland so I couldn't put the top as we left. Once we got out of the traffic I was able to turn on my seat warmers and open the sunroof. We ended up stopping at a rest area half way to Columbus so I could put the top down. I saw another mini on the way, and they waved, and I waved, it was great! I can't even tell you how much fun I'm having with this car! It's beautiful, and fun to drive and there is so much to discover about it! I'm going to try to post a picture, but I can't guarantee it'll work. The lighting wasn't that great in the showroom but I think you'll get the idea!

Bee You Tee Full. It looks a heck of a lot like the one I ordered, too. But, I'm still a good 2-4 weeks away from picking up my baby.

That's awesome Kate, what a beautiful car. All that waiting and frustration is finally behind you. Now you guys can start enjoying your new baby. Good luck and have fun motoring.

o-ron, i'm sure you'll have a great time driving back. sir winston's already got close to 450 miles since friday. my husband and i are finding all sorts of reasons to drive around. like deciding we have to go to the grocery store on the other side of town rather than the one we usually walk to! and since it's a cabrio we end up saying things like, well, the stars are out, maybe we should go for a drive... at this rate the break in period will be done before we know it!

I'll be picking mine up next Tuesday. Taking the same route back as Ron, although I'm turning down to Portland. Just got an email today from my MA with a couple of pics, how exciting.
