Don't look now, but she's at the Miraflores (right behind this red hulled ship)

Just got an email from my MA to say that my MINI had arrived at MoP.

There will still be a couple of day wait for the Certificate of Origin but at least my car has arrived at the dealer.

Awesome!

I was up there around 1 pm today and I saw about 3-4 AB MINIs in the lot. I wasn't sure if one of them was yours, cause I stupidly didn't write down your (or Tubwrecks) specs before I went. There are also some new BRG ones in the lot too, Tubwreck. All of the ABs and BRGs had "Sold" tags hanging from the rear view mirrors, and plastic covers over the seats and on the doors, etc. so I'm willing to bet they just got off the truck. They said there was another truck or two on the way as I was there, but I couldn't wait around longer and had to go. My Mini was not in the lot at the time, but my MA said they expected it to arrive soon. So it could have arrived later today, I don't know. My MA has not emailed me about it.

Yay ronburton! Excellent news. I hope one of those BRGs is mine. Perhaps my MA will drop me a line at some point. Eventually, all the new cars show up in MoPs new car inventory list, but nothing so far.

OK, it's true... I'm obsessed. For those of you who missed the Centaurus Leader today, it completed its passage through the Panama Canal a little after 3pm PDT (it's just about done with the Miraflores as I type this). I am such a geek that I captured a little animated GIF of the event. Unfortunately, another ship (the Taronga) kinda obscured the Centaurus Leader. However, for what it's worth, here it is. Enjoy. Note: The Taronga is red while the Centarus Leader is the blue NYK ship behind it.

sfodoug, thanks for going to all the trouble. That is really cool. It is nice to have hard proof of our ship's progress.

That's an amazing clip. Somebody should pull together all of the tracking resources (WW, OL, AM, sailwx, the canal webcams etc.) and create a "How to track your MINI" sticky.

Excellent communication by my MA

My MA at MoP, Vinny McCauley, has really done an excellent job of keeping me informed of the status of my car and has been very quick to respond when I have emailed him with questions. He was also very quick to notify me when the car arrived at MoP. The mail he sent me yesterday was time stamped 10:32 AM and starts with:

Hi Ron~
I just wanted to let you know that your car literally just arrived.

Considering the time of day I think his phrasing is quite accurate. He emailed me as soon as the car arrived at the dealership.

Ron

My MA is man-of-few-words. He doesn't write. He doesn't call. I feel so used.

So I was watching TV tonight and I saw the preview for Cars and it said that it was coming to theaters on June 9th. I thought wouldn't it be cool if I drove my brand new car to see that move on openeing night? How fun would that be? Then I though that it was entirely possible that I could have the car by then and it might be possible!! My MA sent me a letter saying that it takes between 7-14 days to get to the dealer, so while possible, it still might take longer. But the thought of knowing hoe close the car is now, and that the ship is in the Pacific Ocean (Hey, I have touched the water that the boat is on! ) I had a little fit! ha got all giddy and squealed a bit and I got a little from the boy friend. I didnt stop and he just went back to playing his computer game.

GAH!!!!! Time needs a fast foreward button!!

Any news Tubwreck?

RonBurton...if you happen to swing by MoP today (or tomorrow), will you keep an eye out for a Space Blue/Silver MCSa with Space Gray cloth seats, chrome line interior and chrono pack? I *think* my mini is supposed to arrive today, but who knows :impatient

When I went on Saturday, the only space blue on the lot was a checkmate.

That is an awesome .gif of the boats going through the locks! I think we're all completely insane w/r/t Minis.

Thanks so much sfodoug! That clip of the Centarus Leader rocks! I'm SO happy my baby is gettin' closer! I'm just envisioning me driving in NorCal winding twisty roads (Marin HWY 1) roof open, great weather, ocean...wow I think I've got a MINI-high! Thanks again!

Hello. Me, again. Do any west coasters have their delivery dates posted on the OL?

Since we're getting closer you'd think there'd be some update to an estimated delivery date, or am I just being too anxious?

I'm checking with my MA now.

Nothing listed for me on the OL. I am assuming that Mine will be at the dealer between the 2nd and 3rd week of June.

oooo...I might be moving to the bay area in a year, and I have to say that the thought of driving highway 1 up to Point Reyes was a factor that made the Mini even more attractive!

I just heard from my MA! My Mini is at the dealership and I can pick it up on Wednesday (they're doing some accessory installations)!!! SWEET!
