Hi every one, question

Hello everyone,
New to the fourm, and the community,
still looking for my MINI, we haven't found each other yet,
but when we do, oh will it be magical.

LOL, anyway, i was just wonder what is the loop/pull sticking out of the passenger side of the lower front grill on some of your cars, looks like an oil dip stick?
ive seen them in diffrent colors too, usually matching the car

Thanks

and thanks for such a great community/resource.

It's a tow hook.

As STLMINI mentioned it is a tow hook. The MINI comes with an all black one. Many have customized the stock one and many others are available for purchase from 3rd parties.

A tow hook is often required for an AutoCross or Track days so that in the event of a mishap your can be removed from the course quickly.

Welcome to NAM!
Regards-
Randy

If it was a belly button, then every MINI would have one. And that's just not the case.

It's a piercing, silly! For those hardcore MINIs...

It's the inflation ring for the life raft, like the life vests on airplanes. If you live near water you can order the Aqua package which comes with the raft (the ring is for manual inflation - there's also a switch that goes in place of the rear fog switch), saltwater-proof door seals, and a propellor that will pop out where the rear fog would otherwise go.
