trip from hell

OK,we leave fort walton beach to drive to atlanta in the mini. We are going at a considerable clip on the backroads of Alabama when out of nowhere a white 4000 pound steer is running down the middle of the road. We miss it by about a foot. Mini's react well to steerage. We get to Atlanta, park the mini in the hotel parking lot where I proceed to ride MARTA for a couple days. ( I just coldn't subject my baby to Atlanta traffic.) We decided to go out to dinner Sat. nite (Bad idea). It was a two hour wait wherever we went.) We are cruising down 75 when BAM!!!! a rock hits the windshield. Not a chip or crack to be seen. Go figure. At the same time, the yellow lite comes on my the run flat tires and guess what? the run flat is flat. A huge nail is sticking out. We end up at Hooters where all the Budweiser reps are there from nascar. FUN!!!! Sunday we go to the speedway,( My first nascar race) have to park in th eback 40, takes a good 30 minutes to walk to the track, find out we left two of the tickets in the car, hubby and son go back to get them, daughter and I go in get situated, open up the coolers, and find out we are in the wrong section. Have to move, get situated, and poof! It starts to rain. WE wait two hours. No race for me. Tickets nonrefundable. Go home, the speedometer turns 6000 miles and is resting comfortably in driveway from long ride. Talk about a motorin nightmare this weekend. But all are safe and well except for the steer that did get hit by the car behind us. OUCH!!!!

...best of all, you didn't get stabbed on the MARTA, which, I firmly believe, is hell's transportation system of choice...and I'm from Chicago!

Good to hear you made it back in one piece.

Do you think the mini would have fit under the steer?
