22 weeks?! That is indeed a long time. So you ordered a Mini and had to wait 22 weeks for it to be produced?! Wow, where do you live? My MA told me 8 weeks out of D&R Mini in Indy. Or perhaps it has been 22 weeks since you decided on ordering, but not quite so long from the time of order placement.

Deuce, I got an 8 week estimate from D&R as well. Are you working with Scott? When did you place the order? I am wondering (if I'm lucky) that she will come in early.

u guys are lucky! cuase the east coast gets minis in fast. Im on the West coast. When i made the order in Oct, there was a 9-11 month wait on the S and a 5-6 month wait on the mini. My estimated time of delivery wasn't till mid aug for my S, But they bumped it up to april about 3 weeks ago.

At this rate I would imagine the Left Coast dealers will stop accepting new orders on 06s sometime VERY soon.

I was just wondering why people would wait ~28 weeks for a MINI from a west coast dealer when, they could call up a mid-west or east coast dealer and have it in 8 or 9 weeks? Most of the dealers seam to be charging MSRP and they have really cheap or even free shipping. I placed my order on Jan 17th, my car will be a the dealer this week. Thats not quite 8 weeks. Is it a dealer loyalty thing? Or fear of shipping the car? Making a deal that big over the phone/fax?

Maybe this question has been asked before. Just wondering, I'm sure there has to be good reason I just can't think of one.

Ah.. that makes sense. I did basically the same thing (bu-bye student loans! ) I just did a lot of "waiting" before I placed the order. If I was out there I guess I would have had to order so it would arrive about now too. Congrats on the production status, now the real waiting begins. That web site is a double edged sword.

I can't recall seeing it addressed, but perhaps the spurned west coast dealer would be less than welcoming when the alien was brought in to them for service or bugs.

Now I know that legally, they have to accomodate you, and maybe I'm being paranoid, but would they really bend over backwards for you? go to bat against corporate for you? Tell you to go back to Ohio or Long Island for anything more than bare-boned service?

Wicked

I assume you ordered yours from an MSRP dealer? Otherwise you did get hosed. I ordered my MCS from Universal City Mini on Jan. 25 and it comes in next week! It won't be much longer for you now!!

Yup.

In fact. i got more on the car from my dealer than i wouldnt have if i ordered it in cali. If i where to get what i got in cali.. i would have paided over 4k more for it. So the wait is more than worth it for me...!!

I didnt call universal when i was looking.. they are almost 3 hours feom where i live. :( ( i live victorville).. ouch
