Got mine today

Had to drive four hours to get it, in the snow, but I'm now the proud owner of a hyper blue MC Convertible. What a treat. I got the convenience package, sport package, and cold weather package, and the HK sound system. It's in the driveway now, and I keep going back outside to sit in it! Everything stock for now, but I'm sure I'll start playing with things soon.

First pictures

Luckily the snow that I drove through to come home was all to the north of us (I'm in South Carolina, picked up the car in North Carolina) and today is bright and clear, even if a bit chilly. But is that going to stop me from cruising with the top down? Not a chanch!

I wasn't quite sure how to put pictures in this reply, so I've uploaded a couple to what seems to be my user gallery. I hope everyone can see them. Do ya'll think my new baby is as pretty as I think it is? :-)

We're over in Aiken right now, but I've lived all the way from Charleston, to Clemson, to Florence area, etc. over the years.

Congrats on the new MINI, bbih! Yup, your MINI is gorgeous...if you're tempted to spend the night sleeping in our MINI don't worry, many of us have had similar thoughts at one time or another. BTW, I test drove a Cooper cabrio last spring...it'd def be my choice, too. Very nice!!

How did you know? LOL

I got home with my new mini about midnight last night, and I spent the next three hours alternating between sitting in the house reading the owner's manual, and sitting in the mini trying out features. I had the dealer install the iPod adapter, and I'm really enjoying that as well. Maybe the neighbor's weren't so excited by it at 3:00 AM though

Man, that is a great looking MINI....!!

I know exactly what you are feeling - picked up mine yesterday and am just giddy about finally having "her" home !! Unfortunately, with 18" of snow on top of her car cover, I am not too tempted today to head out and sit in her for too long... Instead, I am studying my OEM iPod manual and creating my five playlists for use in the MINI - harder than it seems covering all the music you might think you want on the road - but a nice challenge.

Good luck with your MINI - best wishes for many years of safe and thrilling motoring !!

Bill

I've been playing with my playlists too, and I discovered that Smart Playlists work just fine. So what I did was create four normal playlists for different moods, but for the fifth playlist I used a smart playlist and I put conditions of My Rating is greater than 2 stars, and Last played is not within the last 8 weeks. This list is all the songs I like but haven't heard in a couple of months, and it will automatically update each time I plug the iPod into the computer.

As for the snow, I'm so glad we are just south of where it started. It's pretty cool here today, but sunny, so I put on my jacket, put the top down, fired up the heated seat, and drove around trying out my new playlists... eventually my head turned into a block of ice and I had to quit, but as soon as it thaws a bit, I'm back on the road!

Looks great and I know the feeling about thinking "MINI" all the darn time. It's been 5 months and I still use every excuse in the book to drive it/look at it/sit in it.

I'm sure someday I'll get better? Heh.

Congrats on the new car - it looks smashing!

Fantastic. Now you just have to exercise right foot control and keep it under 4000 rpm untill you hit 1250+ miles. Be warned too much time in the happy zone (above 4500 on the tach) will DEVISTATE your gas mileage!

I know, but I'm working on that. Third day with the car, and already over 600 miles on it... by the weekend I can wind it up a little
