My MA from Keeler called this afternoon - its in! - arrived last night late. So, it unloaded from the FREEDOM on the 23rd, spent the weekend with her cousins at the BMW VDC and made it to the dealer on Monday the 27th, just beating out the March price increase with a stock# and my stock order of parts. Schweet. I asked my MA to snap off a photo (or two) to hold me over until Friday. Hopefully he can but, noted that, "its dirty Thompson and..." I quickly stopped him his tracks, and said, "I'd sure love a photo of EXACTLY how the factory made it before my aero front and R90s are mounted".

We are on for Friday delivery guys and gals! Stay tuned for videos, photos and loads of smiles and

My Betty is sitting in South Carolina getting ready to be sent to Ill.
Now the bad news. I am to busy at work right now to fly out and pick her up. I asked my MA and he will keep her till the end of March waiting for me
Real life is the worst..... now I have to wait another 4 weeks to get Betty. The good news is that the weather should be great and I can take the northern route home and drive through the Colorado Mtns.
I have to keep looking for the silver lining.

Wow that sucks, I would definitely have a stroke if I had to wait that long knowing it was so close. It is just driving me nuts watching my boat wait in line at the Panama canal all day. To make it worse its even facing the wrong direction. TURN THE BOAT AROUND AND GET YOUR BUTT TO CALIFORNIA!!!

Phoenix Leader in the Gatun Locks

AIS Live now shows the Phoenix Leader in the Gatun Locks

I haven't seen it on the Gatun Lock Web Cam yet, but we may have missed it since AIS Live is delayed by an hour or more. At this rate, Phoenix Leader should be through the Canal today and then be steaming North. I don't know if she makes any stops between Panama and Port Hueneme (like San Diego or Port of LA) but if not, she may make port before 11Mar

My MINI "La Roux" (the russet-red one) is at Keeler MINI !!! Photo just taken minutes ago. This is how the factory built it. Now, the aero front spoiler and black grilles get installed as do the BBS R90s swapped on - Schweet! It will be Friday before I know it

Glad to know that she's hangin' out on the lot with what looks like a full spec Checkmate JCW to the left, nice.

I know how you guys feel! I was able to sell my two cars ('96 Toyota Tacoma 4WD and a '85 Porsche 944) in time. However, the Toy sold last weekend so, I've had to borrow the company Land Rover Discovery off-road beast for this week, thank goodness it's available. Nothing like a real British car warm up!

Me three. Unless my '04 sells in the next few days I will have two Pepper White MINIs. I can't believe how fast this car came in.

Dang, you beat me. I was just about to post the same thing when I got called out of the office for a bit. Well, here is my photo anyway.

At this rate, barring any port calls between here and Port Hueneme, we'll only be a day behind the Carmen which is due to arrive on the 7th.

Motor On,

Phil

PS: Cube, is there anyway you can edit your photo down to a reasonable size? It really makes it hard to read the thread the way it is. Congrats by the way.

I'm suprised I got the shot at all since the webpage was giving me all sorts of trouble and I was refreshing in between clients running around a very busy office this morning I should just take vacation time for the next month so I dont miss anything

How do you put a picture in the post rather than linking to a webpage?

I believe that you can upload them to your gallery (click Gallery on the left side of one of your posts, Click My Photos and then Upload) and then link a thumbnail to your post. I haven't tried that yet though. I have an online storage location for my photos and I simply link a reduced size image to the post with the Insert Image button.

Forget all that. Just click on "Manage Attachments" when you're creating your post and you can upload your photo as an attachment. It shows up like this:

Any other week 6 people from Portland? Any of you lurkers reading this thread? My MA says 50 other Mini's are coming in on the same day as mine so there must be a few of you out there reading the forums. If so, join in and do some posting!

I'll need some company since I'll otherwise be one of the last to get their car

Phoenix Leader Update

My MA just let me know that the Phoenix Leader is now due in Port Hueneme on 10Mar06. That's just eight short days from now. Figure two to four days in the VDC and a short drive south to Santa Ana and Emma and I will be together.

So many things left to buy and so little time:impatient

My MINI could have only been in the VDC for a few hours. The ship came in the morning of the 28th and was at the dealer's 450 miles away the very next day! I guess I was at the front of the line. It sort of caught us off guard.
