Got my second MINI. My first, Miss Kitty, got swamped in the 8' storm surge from Hurricane Wilma. I felt like a little girl who lost her dolly. Even before the surge receded and the insurance settled, I immediately contacted my MINI dealer and ordered another one. Ducky is Purle Haze with a red roof and mirror caps and a red checker board pattern on the front fender/quarter panels. (Got the idea off the MNI site...) Everyone thought I was nuts with that color combo, but if you were a Red Hatter, you'd think it was beautiful!

In the first two days, me, my mum, and Ducky drove almost 500 miles. In the Florida Keys, that isn't hard to do. We had a great ride...decided Ducky was a "boy." Miss Kitty had higher pitched engine noises, purred and had a light touch to the steering and gas pedal. Ducky, has throatier noises, deeper engine sounds and needs a firm hand....all in all, he still sounds, handles and acts like a MINI. Flora Blue

 

It's great to hear you were able to turn a lemon of a situation into lemonade! I hope you and Ducky have many, many good miles together!
