So who else is awaiting a week 49 build?

Dealer says it should arrive 1st week in Jan, but wouldn't be surprized if it showed up earlier b/c MINI runs on a calander year and once the cars are off the truck and signed over to the dealer they are no longer in the makers inventory. So my daler told me at the end of the year they get lots of cars early because MINI wans them to be off their books before Dec. 31st. Hope that is the case and all us get our cars a bit early.

Who else is in the Week 49 build, and whats your speck?

I've ordered the Blitzsafe to install XM, as well as the free (!) XM tuner from Crutchfield (see my post in the Navigation/Audio forum). Both arrived today, so they will sit in boxes for a while.

So are you guys the last week before the 3 week shut down to re-tool for the 2007's?

 

Nope that will be the sept '06 builds that get the last of this generation. The '07 won't go into production until dec/06 or jan 07 from what I have read.

I have heard that the plant will be closing for a couple of weeks, but I imagine it is partially due to the holidays, but I don't know what changes they will be making to the plant at that time. Any ideas?

 

I just got off the phone with 866 ASK-MINI and my car has been bumped from productin week 49 to, well begining production thurs 11-24 That is a week and a half early. Original date was to be Dec 5th. Got a vin # and everything. May get my car before christmas:impatient

If you were also in this week you may want to check, you may have benn moved up also.

 

When did you order Deuce?? I ordered my MC on 11/11 and I am still waiting to hear on a production number from my MA.........

 

ordered on 11-8-05. Originaly scheduled for week 49.

Do you have your production # yet. If not call your MA and get it from them. 866 ASK-MINI is the number to call to talk to someone in the know, give them your production # and they will review your spec to ensure it was put in correctly and give you a production start date.

Quite possible you got bumped up also. Makes sense after hearing from my MA about how MINI runs on calander year. (see 1st post in this thread)

Order tracking just switched from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production." Even shows the VIN.

Just got my VIN yesterday. Called ASK-MINI this morning and scheduled completion date is December 7th. Ordered on 11/11. Very impressed.

Mine was 11-30 so it looks like we will be at the port at the same time. Where are you taking delivery. I am in Atlanta, GA so mine will come through port in S.C.

 

Hello everyone.

Am I correct to assume that an expected completion date of 12/7 also puts me in Production Week #49?

 

Mine is scheduled the same day as yours for completion so that is what I am calling it. I keep calling ASK-MINI everyday and all I get is "In Production and Scheduled Completion Date 12/07" How are others getting more detailed information such as in "In Paint Shop", etc? My online status hasn't budged all week and still says "Scheduled For Production"

 

I hear it takes 5-6 days to complete production and the automated line lags behind quite a bit. It will start telling you more detailed info soon. looks like you proboly start down the line today. If all goes well you should be able to board the Courage which leaves for the east coast on the 10th.

 

Just got the update: awaiting transport.

Hey Fellow 49er's, kind of quiet here. Just got word mine is in the paint shop and will be in final assembly beginning tomorrow, QC over the weekend and on the ship week 51. Anyone else got an update? On a side note, while I was getting my update and because they were having computer issues, I had a lengthy chat with the ASK-MINI rep. on the phone and he said the 06's are selling incredibly fast because people are worried about the new 07 re-do. He even said he is getting his own '06 in Feb.

 

Hi, my MA told me on 12/4 that I was status "151" (? engine transmission?). Anyone know what that means for me in terms of production week/time? Thanks

Did you get your scheduled completion date? That will tell you how far along in the process it is. You're probably only a few days out from final assembly.

 

w00t, I found the thread for me. Mine was completed as of 12/1 -- she's waiting for a boat now. Le sigh.

 

I was told that my MCS was in the paint shop, and had a completion date of 12/9/05. Any guesses as to how long it usually is before they are loaded onto a ship? I understand it is then 9 days over, and about 3 more days to the dealer after that.

 

My best guess is that yours will be on a boat the week of December 19th, arriving on shore the week of the 26th and at your dealer 2 weeks after that(eastern US only).

 

Just found out my 12/07 completion is leaving on the Courage on 12/11 arriving in Charleston on Christmas eve. There really is a Santa!!! Don't pay any attention to the Owners Lounge, mine still says scheduled for production. Call ASK-MINI instead. Looks like we'll be seeing our MINI's very soon. I found out mine's "released to a carrier". How do you find out what ship it will be on?
