And I must say it was worth the wait for 3-month wait. It's a hot little car and is FUN to drive. I'm breaking it in without mercy, but not exceeding the recommendations. Needless to say I'm still learning some of the tips/tricks. But, if anyone has questions about any features on the '06, I'll be happy to answer them if I can.

A few things I did note:

1. They've fixed the center console holding area down between the down tubes and in front of the cup holders. It now has sides and a little flexi rubber container to keep everything there.

2. You can close the top and windows with the key in the door, but evidently not with the key remotely.

3. There are a LOT of configurable options, according to the manual. I'm going to go through them soon, provide them back to my sales rep at Pentagon, and see if they all are in fact available. Why don't they give you a comprehensive list of configurables when you're there and picking the car up, to tailor it for you?

4. I have the clear protectant coming from Ryan for the whole front end.

Lastly, has anyone put driving lights (PIAA, etc) into the fog light areas in the front spoiler? If so, what worked?

I think that you came in the day that I was picking up my car. :smile: It is a small world. I have also noticed that there are a lot more configurable items like the light sensor and such that many folks have complained about. These are nice features that the 06 has.

I noticed that most of the features were turned on for me at the dealer. The one that wasn't was the opening of the windows and sunroof from the keyfob which is fine as I don't like it anyway. A sheet outlining the programable options would have been nice like you said.

Also, keep me posted on the Ryan kit. I am looking at doing this as well on my car, but need to find a place here in Heidelberg that can do it right. Luckily in Germany it is not as necessary as they tend to keep the roads rather clean.

 

I thought most dealers showed you the list of programmable options when you order your car so they can configure it before you take delivery. I'll have to make sure I mention that to my MA when I order my car so I don't have to go back to have it taken care of later.

 

They probably do, but here in Germany via Pentagon Car Sales, they don't. When you pickup your car, it is via Auto Kocher, the German BWM MINI dealer. It is not an issue to take it back to have it reconfigured.

 

Our dealer didn't have the list, I brought a copy of it in from off of NAM. Most of the default settings are what I wanted anyway, but the remote window down had to be enabled. Do a search and you can get various threads with the list included.
