about a week ago i placed my order for a 2006 mcs with performance and lux. packages. wanted ly/bl, but told ly was na in 06---bummer. 2 days ago i saw a 02 mcs with 11,000 miles in showroom condition with the exact options. yes yellow/black. picked it up for 18k and could not be happier. had a 67 cooper in the 80's. this is a great site!! by the way why is the milltek exhaust listed for 03 and up?

Hi and welcome. Picked up my May build '02 MCS with 9k miles 4 months ago. Exactly what I wanted, a plain jane no frills MCS. You'll want to read some threads on power steering cooling fan grills and coolant expansion tank replacements. Have your dealer run a recall check on your VIN, but whatever you do.....if your '02 still has v32 software in the ECU....DO NOT LET THEM FLASH YOUR ECU to the latest version of software. V32 software was probably the best high performance software MINI produced, IMHO.

Great find! I was also in the market for a new Mini Cooper and found a 2003 MC with just 3300 miles in showroom condition (private sale). :smile:

 

Some time in late 03/early 04, Mini changed the rear exhaust hangers. Not sure the exact date except that my 04 is an early build (Nov 03) and it has the old hangers. Most of the aftermarket exhaust manufacturers now have an early version and a late one.
