Stuff about Me: I'm new!

Well, I've been driving a geo metro for 10 years and I like little cars...so after snagging a new job I decided to treat myself to *gasp* a nicer "little car". I ordered a royal grey mcs w/ silver roof and chrome line exterior. I won't pick it up until December when I arrive back in the US.

I haven't had oppertunity to really test the turning radius of the mini and am wondering if it can compare to my metro. That sucker turned on a dime...nay...a 1 cent euro.

I'm also wondering if i should be nervous about the cold start sluggishness/stalling and or belt whine problems i've been reading about on the forums. Mine will be an '06 of course...but I wonder if these occasional troubles might carry over.

Welcome to NAM!

Your MINI being an 06 should be one of the most trouble free of the Minis, being this is the 5th year of production.
Color combo looks great.
Cheers and happy motoring

Welcome to NAM you can learn a lot here.

I have an 03 MCS and never had a cold start sluggishness/stalling problem. As far a belt whine I don't have any idea since my CAI and Alta pulley make a great sound that may be drounding it out.

Welcome aboard!! Your 06' should be pretty much trouble free. The earlier 02' and 03' models had some issues - most fixed under warranty. Even with issues here and there, we love our MINIs...

Purah,
Welcome to NAM. When you get to the States please join a local club, they are everywhere. Don't know where you will be living but let us know. We will find you a good MINI club to get involved with. Most are great people who really enjoy life and living it with their MINIS.

Your MINI sounds great. I have seen a picture of one like it and it almost breaks my heart.

Good Luck,
Call

Welcome. You always hear about problems because us that don't have any don't complain. I have a totally problem free 02 I've been driving over 3 years now.

Wow. Amazingly friendly replies. I guess I'm used to less friendly game-forums than real comunities.

I'll be in Austin TX shortly after the 1st of the year.

Thanks again for the welcome!
