You know, if you do a quick sort, this thread has the most replies so far in the '1st Gear' forum.

Just, you know, making another post here.

I'm guilty of going hay wire in Icarus... just shy of four weeks later and he's already over 2500 miles.

I can't help it! I just love driving this car!

Thanks for your time, it is kind of fun to see all those who waited along with me. I hope every one is as happy as I am with their MINI. The only thing I am anxious about is parking. I am so affraid of a big dent. Other than that, the car is probably the funnest car I have ever had. Still no name, I am working on it. Thanks again

550 miles!

Okay, okay, I need to drive more.

Oh yeah, gotta update the sig to reflect this. Only 700 miles left! My MA's jaw nearly dropped to the floor when I mentioned I drive about 50-100 miles a week, max, and didn't bother with selling extended warranties. I'm getting better though, actually driving in to work once in a while.

Just passed break-in point

1345 mile.
Just passed 1250 yesterday. At 1253 I started fooling with the steptronic. Never driven a manual, so I am waiting for a lesson from my fiancee.

Man I love my car!!!

Does anyone know if there's a Bentley manual in the works for the 05-06 MINIs?

Hey, sagworks.

Isn't shifting the CVT manually fun? I'm going up on the BRP in Va. this Saturday, and plan to have a ball "shifting" gears. Now that I have passed 1250, the fun begins !!!

I read somewhere that No... there isn't... due to minor changes from the earlier models and the major changes in the 07+ models... so the next one they put out will be for the new ones....

The manual shifting is fun, I just need to learn to use it correctly!!

As a note - I got my MINI welcome kit today. Same things in it as most people got for previous years.

Whistler BC road trip

The drive to Whistler was a blast! Fog & rain for the drive up, but we had some sporadic sun for the drive back. Managed to get 550 miles on 'ol Phinny, now we have to plan our next adventure!!!. Here are a few pics.

Aww. That's great, SFS.

What's in the welcome kit? I got a stencil kit but that's it so far.

You got the stencil kit? I didn't get that. What is included is a highway bingo kit, some stickers, a pen, note pad, unofficial owners manual, and some more "stuff".

Oh. A lot of that stuff I got from my dealer when I picked up Miles. I didn't get a pen and notepad, though. Hrm.

I know, I know......my husband was being artsy with photoshop. Here are the color pics. I can't decide which I like better. I am a sucker for black and white photos.
The trip was alot of fun. I LOVE this car! Even driving to work is fun.

Holy cow! The color shots are MUCH better IMO. I guess I'm of a "colorized" orientation. I'm so glad the calendar is going to be in color this year.

The color in that first shot is just spectacular.

WOW SFS, I love the shot against the lake. I don't know which accentuates the lake better, you or the MINI. OK, I've decided ... both. That is a great shot. Both look beautiful.

Do we bury Week 36?

Just noticed that the last post was a week ago. I guess that all the 36'ers are motoring. Have we lost interest in communicating and gained interest in being on the road.

We just came back from a road trip this weekend with 15 MINI's (actually 14 MINI's and 1 Mini). The classic kept up with us fine through mountains in SW Virginia.

Motor on!!

Sounds like it buddy. It was a great trip watching everyone go through the ups & downs from ordering to delivery of their MINI's. I imagine that we'll all still chime in from time to time with a great motoring story!

I've taken a slight break from motoring on the weekends. It's been a snotty nose and we're already busy with holiday prep. Family coming in starting this weekend for the Thanksgiving week. One Christmas show the following week. Then there's the Holiday Parties. There'll be plenty of taking the relatives on quick abouts.

Did you get the CD?

Yeah. Thanks, the pics look great. Seems like we are going to the track (VIR) the Thanksgiving weekend. I'm looking forward to it, but don't think I can convince my wife. Will let you know. Get well.
