Almost a convert

Going to pick up my slightly used R55 MCC in AB tomorrow. 1998 with 20K KM. Any advice for used car prep, servicing or burping the baby after a few weeks?

Proud new dad to be.

Attachment 49297

That color is very hard to tell under the lighting in the picture. Possible choices are Silk Green, Pure Silver and maybe Sparkling silver. There is too much interference from the non-white lights.

1998??????? I can believe 2008. Just clean it on a regular basis, check oil every other fill up and change oil at least 2x as often as manual recommends.

Happy motoring and welcome to the insanity.

Thanks for your work compiling this, and thanks to everybody for their input.

I would suggest to add :
Misc options :
ASC+T : Automatic Stability Control + Traction control ; Gen 1 only.
DTC : Dynamic Traction Control (Gen 2; 2010+only)
EDLC : Electronic Differention Lock Control (Gen 2; 2010+ only)

Thanks for the list.

Minor point: The convertible top colors has "B" used twice (once for Black and once for Blue).

FWIW, the DTC and EDLC were available on 2009 Models starting with LATE November 2008 build dates.

i would like to remark that historically, the colour "White Silver" was : "R52 Convertible Gen.1 only", then later "Camden only" and only in third stage, it got introduced to all Gen2 models.

The first post indicates that Lightning Blue is discontinued, but apparently they brought it back. I just ordered a MCc in Lightning Blue.

Carbon Fiber?

I did not see a code for Carbon Fiber on here? I just bought my used 2009 JCW mini today from a car dealer. I do not know much about mini's at this time but when I was looking at all the Mini's on line, there was one that stood out. I was looking for a JCW specific car but this one had a carbon fiber hood insert. I drove 3 hours to look at the car and decided to buy it. The car has every available carbon fiber part offered on the build your own section of the official mini site and it has the black 18" optional $3157.00 wheels. I have a feeling I may have hit the jackpot in finding my car for the price. It has almost every available option except Navigation and is very clean. I don't think the dealer I went to realized what they had because they didn't even mention Carbon Fiber in their description. The car is sharp and my wife and I are excited for our new addition. Are factory carbon fiber parts rare for these cars? This was the first one I had seen.
