Hi....trying to decide!!!! Dealer?

Hi all! I'm getting a Mini...just have no idea which one yet, or what color or what options! Good lord , I have to make my mind up! Gonna ask some other questions in the specific forums to help narrow it down for me. What a GREAT community this !

I guess my first question is which is the best dealer to start doing business with (I need to test drive both the MC ad MCS). I guess I can go to any of the 3 that are nearest me, but thought it would be best to start w/ the one I'm gonna buy from.

In searching around the forums I saw several posting related to a great 'Dealer Rating' area of ths site, but I can't find it. I found a thread from about a year ago stating it was down temporarily and was coming right back up....but there was no link provided to where it ended up. Can anyone point me to it?

Thanks!

Jeff

I'd just test drive as much as possible with the local dealers to see what you want, then see what they have to say about price and availability. Then I'd do a search on 'dealer' here on NAM and see if there are good/bad posts about various dealers near and far, then call around and see who will put their price and allocation/availability in writing and fax it to you.

Then you just decide on the exact specs, make sure you get a contract with your dealer of choice showing your MSRP price out the door (to make sure there are no funny hidden fees) and make sure the contract stipulates that your deposit is refundable, and you are good to go

The dealer rating section actually hasn't come back yet. If you tell us where you are, a bunch of people in your general area should magically materialize to advise you!

make sure when you test drive that you drive vehicles with all different options, not just the MC or MCS. so that way when your placing your order, you've had experience with all the different options. when i ordered my first MINI i just spec'd the first three packages (premium, sport, cold) and the panther black leather. now that i'm ordering my new one, i know exactly what i liked and didn't like and can narrow down my options to save a little cash. all i'm really saying is pay attention to how the test cars are equipped and use as many of the features as possible while on ur test drive.

p.s. i don't live in maryland, but i have heard nothing but good things about MINI of Peabody

When I test drove the MCS they did not have the LSD option or the convience package. But all in all i liked the car a lot and when it came to odering the car I took everything but the sunroof. Reason why i choose not having the sunroof, is because i hardly ever used mine in the car i just sold. Like everyone else is saying, test drive each car they offer to test and look at other models on what packages they have to see if you like them.

I wish you the best of luck and welcome to the great community!

Garrett
