Purchasing questions

I am considering buying a MCS. Can I expect to get any discount from the dealer? If ordered now, what is the usual delivery time? Any advice would be appreciated.

Discounts are still extremely unlikely. On the west coast, prices are in fact inflated.

Typically once your MINI is ordered, you should see it in 6-8 weeks; but there may be a wait time before the order is placed.

Agree with GB, also surf around the dealerships that sponsor this site or that are near you. Around her the dealer bounty has been slightly reduced for an S but is still a few $K over window. I think the best deal you could hope for is at or a few hundred over window for the MCS. Check the dealers for wait time. Sometimes there is one "in the pipeline" that is close enough to what you would order, especially if you're flexable on the color. Good luck...................................mgg (MTR ON)

You'll pay MSRP and in some cases MSRP plus!
Research your local dealer and see what they are charging for dealer prep and if they require any other mandatory fees.

My local dealer charges up to $1500 in mandatory accesories -- NO way I was going for that!! (The dealership also lacked in customer service, so I took my business elsewhere)

The key thing is to research -- there are options. You can order form a dealer close by and then fly there and then drive home. (That's what I am doing) You can also order from a dealer across the country and they can ship it to you.
You might get lucky and your perfect car might be sitting on a lot right now. If not, you can order yours, but it depends on waiting lists and the dealerships upcoming allotment.

As mentioned above, the best thing to do is research. Also, call your local dealers and see if they charge a delaer mark up and how long the wait is. That si the best way to get your answer. From what I found, there is usually longer wait for the mcs.

Settle for nothing but MSRP. Anything more than that, they are taking advantage. My dealer added about $200 to MSRP with "standard" wheel locks and mats. It was more like $120 but they were things I would have gotten anyway and so they made a few bucks off of it. That is fine. I know how business works.

Ask direct questions, allocations, lead times (like how many per month are they allocated and how many weeks are they sold out), this makes the wait more understanding.

There are MANY helpful dealers out there. Don't be afraid to spread your buying area.

I'll assume your in Tennessee. I was at the dealership in Nashville in January. The price was MSRP. The dealership charged an additional $300 or so for a document fee or something like that. Can't remember exactly. Otherwise, there were no other restrictions. Timing was most likely 4-6 to build date and then 6 weeks shipping. There were a few on the lot. I bought mine in Detroit a couple of weeks ago and the wait was about the same, the dealership fee was $160 and there were quite a few nice ones on the lot. Good luck
