Introduction

Hey everyone in Mini Land, My name is John "Mr.Toad". I live in Colorado. I've been wrenching on cars and motorcycles for many years. I've built one Sportster chopper from a box of parts and modified and/or made parts for it. I also built a drag VW that I had for many years. My fastest time in the 1/4 mile was 12.10 secs. I have a 2016 Harley FLHTK that I love to ride on short, long and over-nite rides. Just recently, a friend and I went to Tombstone, Arizona and had a blast! I just recently picked up a 2014 Mini Cooper S Convertible with 65,000 miles on it. Very clean car for the miles on it. I really love this car! It's not as quick as my beetle was, but I'm working on it. I just installed a Thorton tuner chip, and I'm noticing an increase in gas mileage. Right now I'm concentrating on fixing few minor issues with it, like replacing both front cowl covers, the splash pan under the front passenger side, replaced the plugs and all the coil packs (one crapped out on me),etc. So far I haven't notice any leaks (oil or coolant), so I'm very happy with this car. I'd love to take this Mini back to Tombstone and then to California to visit my daughters and brothers. I'd eventually like to put a cold air intake and a better exhaust on it, nothing too radical. Anyway, I'm John, and a big "HELLO" to all of you!

Welcome ! Love your experiences !

You have a great car for go fast stuff. Depending on wallet - I'd recommend upgrading the intercooler and doing a stage 1. Stage 2 will be very noticeable, but might want a JCW turbo for that. Tune it to your Colorado gas though !

Take a look at the R56, R57 pages - lots of info there

Thanks gauss66. Thanks for the info. I want to take it a little slow right now until I make a few payments and take care of a few minor repairs.
