2005 mini cooper s tail lights

Hello all. I need some help from the Mini Gurus regarding the tail lights from my 2005 Mini Cooper S.
After being rear ended, the OEM tailights were damaged beyong repair.
I ordered a pair from an Ebay vendor (no return/no refund) but the OEM bulb holder is different. See pics

Tail light that came of the car

Purchased taillight

this is the bulb holder for the light I removed

Since I cannot return the taillights I purchased, I would like to use them, but I would have to purchase the correct bulb holder.I think it is part #63216916395(FCP Euro)
My question is whether the harness connector that is used with the bulb holder in the picture above will work with the bulb holder of the purchased tail lamp.
Appreciate your responses.

Hello,

Thats pre 7/2004 design taillights, with a bulb holder for 7/2004+ design.

You need the taillight itself that's 7/2004+

I would still contact the vendor stating that yours is a 2005 not an early 2004 and provide them with the info that ECS just sent you, its worth a try

Yep, if they sold you those lights as for a 2005, it’s their mistake. Notice the 05 has reverse in the tail, the ones they sold you do not, the are 02-04 tails.
if you try to use them, you will have no reverse light.

Thanks for the prompt responses.
It doesn't matter if I do not have reverse lights. I don't drive the car at night anyway.
I installed the 02-04 lights. The electrical plug fits the 02-04 bulb holder, but I think the wiring is different.
Turn signals work correctly.Single Filament) (middle Amber)
Park lamps work correctly, Single Filament)(Bottom Red)????
Brake lamps (Top) (Double Filament)comes on as soon as I turn the ignition on. It is getting power all the time with the ignition on.
What is the purpose of the Double filament if only one is constantly lit with the ignition on. Pressing the brake pedal does not cause the second filament to light up.
Is there any difference in the wiring for the 02-04 and the 05-06?
If so can anyone post a copy of the electrical circuits for both models?

Yes, the wiring is different because they have different tail lights, FL have reverse 8n tail amd fog in center, PFL have fog in tail and reverse in middle of bumper.

. Iirc on PFL, the bottom is both the brake and parking, and top is fog. Maybe you have your bulbs backwards?
