New Mini Owner

Well, I finally got a Mini: a CPO 2020 Clubman S All4 with 17,000 miles.

It is an Iconic trim in Chili Red with white top and mirrors; Malt Brown interior. The car is absolutely gorgeous and in mint condition.

It was a long journey to get here. I’ve owned Jeeps, Dodges and Chryslers for the the past 35 years; Jeep Wranglers for the past 15. Over the past few years Minis would make my head turn.

A year ago I started looking into Clubmans seriously. The closest Mini dealer to me is 75 miles away. After a few trips to the dealer I finally ordered a fully-equipped 2023 Clubman JCW. However, this is when there were all sorts of supply issues.

When the Mini finally arrived, I wasn’t mentally prepared to get rid of my Jeep, so I let it go. The dealer had a long list of customers asking for it. The car sold in just a few days.

Fast forward to a year later, and I got the Mini itch once again. This time the dealer had several CPO S All4s in stock with low miles, and even a couple of JCWs. But it was this Chili Red S with White top and Malt Brown leather that got my attention. Drove the 75 miles down to test drive it. Turns out I like how the S drives and rides, better than the JCW.

This time I was ready to part ways with my Jeep.

I’ve had the Clubman five days now. All I can say is the car is just brilliant! It is a hoot to drive, comfortable, practical, easy on gas, and love how it looks. Every friend and relative that has seen it leaves with a big smile on their face. I’ve had total strangers walk over to talk to me about the car.

The only thing I’m not enamored with are the Bridgestone runflats. But that’s an easy fix. Already placed an order for a set of slightly taller 225/45R18 Nokian all-weather tires.

Here are a few shots

Sharp! I went to get some transfer case fluid for my 2019 JCW Countryman. Ended up buying a CPO 2020 JCW Countryman instead. Always nice to find good CPO's for the extra warranty, if nothing else...

Nice!

Yes, I got two years of warranty: one year from the original warranty and another from the CPO. And added another 7 years through their extended warranty, just in case. I should be covered.
