I had an accident with my 2005 Mini Cooper S. The left rear quarter panel is destroyed. Other than that the car runs great.
I have a 2003 body (automatic) and I was wondering whether it is possible to put the 2005 S engine and gearbox into this car this is the damage to the 2005 S
My plan is to drop the engine from the 2005 S with the sub frame and install it in the 2003 body.
Remove the complete electrical harness from the 2005 and install it in the 2003
Will this work? I will have everything I need for the swap in the 2005 which has a lot of new parts (3 months old) The S engine was completely rebuilt by me about 6 months ago and a new clutch and pressure plate was also installed by me.
If this can be done, I would appreciate some advice as to the issues I may run into.
Thanks, Frank
In addition to the wiring harness, you'll also need the ECU from your wrecked Mini. Maybe someone can also weigh in here but you may also have issues with the wiring harness compatibility with the boot harness.
