Hi, I am Forethought!

Greetings from Virginia, USA!

I am a new mini owner but longtime car enthusiast. I got my Mini from my brother who got it as a project but had no time to wrench on it. I heard that Mini's are a blast to drive and decided to adopt it and thus started the journey to get it running.

My brother got it sight unseen from a auction and let it sit for 5 months before I convinced him to sell it to me. Got a low milage junkyard engine, new gaskets, a bunch of wear items and replaced everything I could. Used NAM many times for guides and other things. Got it running and while I am still encountering bumps, it runs just fine for the most part.

It is 2004 Mini Cooper S in Chili Red. It was a pretty nicely optioned car but the previous owner did not maintain it at all. Lots of things in disrepair and it has turned into full oem+ restore. Not looking for power, just want a comfortable, sporty car.

I have fought it tooth and nail to get it running and the hardest thing I have done on it was the power brake booster. Here is a photo:

Good find. Not a mechanic at all but a strong suggestion for the 'sporty'. Consider replacing the RSB with a 19 or 22 MM adjustable and the struts with KONI special active. A huge upgrade in handling.
