Let me introduce myself...
Hi Everyone.
My name is Mel, and I've been surfing (lurking) here for the last couple months, doing a ton of reading and learning.
I got my first (hopefully the first of many) Mini back in April. I've wanted one ever since they first came out, but the ex-hubby wouldn't go for it. Now with him out of the picture and me needing a car, the choice seemed obvious.
Anyway, it's used, it's my first, but I love it so much.
It's an '03, silver with a black cap.
I'm sure I'll have a million questions, so just be patient with me.
I can't wait to keep learning from everyone.

You're right, it was the best trade for a car in the history of mankind!
I absolutely love this car. I'm already thinking about what my next one will be.
Here she is:
I took a few pictures of it the day I got it, and haven't taken any since...I really should get on that.
She's a blank canvas for now. I can't wait to start adding little things here and there as I go.
As far as questions / suggestions....I'm starting to think about changing the stereo that's in the car now - it's stock. Any suggestions on what you guys think is best would be more than welcome.

Like you, I've wanted a Mini since their return. Back then I had the hubby stop by a dealership and I was checking one out hard.
It was $23,000 
and I remember like yesterday the DH telling me no way we were paying that for a tin cup. 
Well, my time has come. It's amazing how the tin cup is now very welcome just to keep me from stacking up miles on his beloved car.

I've had my Mini Convertible S since March-2007 and I'm still learning how best to drive it - it's probably the most fun car I've had since my 1928 Dodge touring sedan in the 1940's - you're never too old - I'll be 80 in November -get lots of smiles from ladies of all ages---musicman72_2000@yahoo.com

Well, my Mini hasn't told me what her name is yet, but I'm still workin' on her! I don't give up easily.
I actually just got it back from the shop tonight - it over heated a couple days ago and it turns out it needed a new radiator and upper rad hose.
- All of which were covered under the warranty.
So, I'm going to take my girl out for a drive to celebrate being reunited. A few days apart felt like far too long.
