Cell Phone

I downlowed the Owner's Manual for the Mini and ran into a question on page 8.
I quote, Installation and operation of non-Mini approved accessoriess such as alarms, radios, amplifiers, radar detectors, wheels, suspension components, brake dus shields, telephones, including operation of any protabe cellular phone from within the vehicle without using an externally mounted antenna, or transceiver equipment, e.g. CB, walkie-talkie, ham radio or similar, may cause extensive damage to the vehicle, compromise its safety, interfere with the vehicle's electrical system or affect the validity of the MINI Limited Warranty.
What's up with that? Does that mean no cell phone in the MINI? This can't be true. What will we do. Does any one use there phone in there MINI and what does the dealer say on this subject.

Stone Out!!!!!!!!!

I don’t believe in using a cell phone in a moving car of any type, but having said that no it will not hurt the MINI to use a cell phone in it and it will not void your warranty.

This is typical "CYA" language that is rquired in our litigious society. That way if you wreck your MINI while gabbing on a cell phone, you can't sue MINI because they told you not to do it.

So, if you were to...say...have a wreck while having sex in your MINI, you could sue MINI? They didn't say not to do it!

(I'm sorry, I'm at home with the flu and the NyQuil is taking over my brain!)
