Frustrated 2015 Countryman ALL4S Owner *CODES*
Frustrated 2015 Countryman ALL4S Owner *CODES*
So happy to have found this site! I had no idea BMW had gone all $hitty about letting average owners access repair info on newer model Minis.
My wife picked out a used 2015 Countryman ALL4S in Jungle Green Metallic a few years back and we've enjoyed the heck out of it!
She named it "Sweet Pea".
I do a lot of our basic vehicle repairs, as I come from a father who is a very skilled welder/fabricator, and all-around Jack-of-all-trades who can fix just about anything. I'd like to think I know my limits, but have gotten myself in over my head a few times.
Soooo, reason for finding NAM...
We're up to four (4) codes now. Oh, and brake lights won't turn off even thought I have replaced all four disks, all four sets of pads, and both front and rear sensors.
-One of the codes (P0304) I know I have remedied from experience. We hade the same code while travelling once, but for the #3 cylinder. My wife reported a loss of power on the way home from work and this code showed and I knew we were due for new plugs and coils anyway, so I just did all 4 to keep them done at the same mileage. Used Bosch for both, as we are on a budget currently and I trust the name. Feel free to let me know if there are better budget units out there.
-So all three other codes are Emissions/Fuel system related: P1449, P1447, and P2402. Changed gas cap and purchased a new leak detection pump, which for the life of me, I can't find where the damn thing goes. I have pulled both the rear plastic skid plates , right and left, can see where the vent lines run on the driver's side, but they lead up over the tank and appear inaccessible from there, without pulling the tank.
There in-lies my frustration. Since I am new here, I know there are threads elsewhere to search for my answers and don't expect them here. Just explaining what led me here. And again, I'm so happy to have found this place. LET MY THREAD EXPEDITION BEGIN, and thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!

Hello get the Schwaben scan tool and you will see what it really is. Most code readers only tell half the story.
leak detection pump, goes in front behind the rear wheel near the tank.

I will take a look at that code reader. That is not the location of the Leak Detection Pump on the 2015 Countryman ALL4S. I finally located it up under the rear passenger side wheel-well skirting, along with the charcoal cannister. I followed the tubing from the area near the tank in the picture you attached, up over the tank, then up into the wheel well behind the quarter panel. crazy.
