Hello from Sweden

Hey everyone!

We are from Sweden, Gothenburg. I am working at Volvo Cars, currently. We own 2014 Kia Ceed SW 1.6L CRDI 128hp and 2014 Mini Cooper 3d 1.6L NA 98hp.

Currently, I am little concerned about our Mini's health. I want it to live forever, therefore I am here

For the issue I am having with the noise, please watch:

Kind regards, hope to hear from you,

Ömur

Hello,

Cant really tell whats going on, did you have the timing chain ever done and measure slack? Check the drive belt and the pulleys, they can make noise.

Hey! Thanks for the reply! The car is at 144000km, and I believe it has not gone through anything related to hardware. Just consumables. I think I narrowed the issue to the friction wheel. I will talk with the dealer tomorrow.

Is there a way to check the slack?

Kind regards,

Ömur

That has to be measured by the dealer or shop. Might be that wheel, they make a high pitched whine but i can tell in the vid.

All right, today the dealer accepted to change the friction wheel assembly and accessories belt!

Also, some more findings:
They had 4 Mini One R56 cars, apparently they are popular in Sweden, all had beaten AC Condensers due to unsuitable lower front grills with large openings, squeaky rear shock mounts, and loud friction wheels. Mileages were between 60k and 160k km.

All right, here is an update. Friction Wheel Assembly and Accessories Belt got changed by the dealer and this solved the issue. Parts were 144000 km old and pretty worn down.
