New member and Mini owner

Hey everyone. So just became the owner of not one but two mini cooper's. The first I bought last weekend was the 2013 Cooper s Countryman R60 with 1.6L. The second one that I bought yesterday is the 2015 cooper s with the 2.0L engine. From what I can find I think it's the F55. If that's not correct please feel free to steer me right. The numbers are so confusing to me. I have to say I'm in love with these cars so far.

I do have one question as far as right now. The 2015 S seems like the regular S model but has the JCW steering wheel and also the Harman/Kardon sound system. So when I saw those two things I was really happy about it. But upon further research I believe it's just the Cooper S model and not the JCW. No brake upgrade, no other Jcw emblems. 16" wheels which are smaller than my 2013 19" wheels.

Are there any other indications that it could be the John Cooper Works model. It does have fog lights like the Cooper S also. Looks to me as somebody just bought the JCW steering wheel and replaced the original.

So glad I found this forum and I'm sure I'll be around a lot as I learn the do's and dont's of the Mini cooper.

Tried a few times to upload pics but not letting me. Sorry.

2015 JCW steering wheel

Really liking the Mini

No brake upgrade

Welcome. Looks like one the F55 they just changed out the wheel and the shifter. On your R60 you have the Ray Line package outside.

Thanks for the info. There's a bunch to learn. Just got my first taste of parts shopping today. Some coolant, plugs and coils. Wow what a price. It my daughter is looking at o e on carfax now. They're definitely addictive. Spent Sunday doing Dynamat in the R60. Should clear any road noise. But I'm really liking the F55. Thanks for the welcome

Welcome. Yep the price of the parts are about the same as BMW and sometimes higher is Genuine. If you do aftermarket on our site you can save some $$$.

I was actually looking over there this am for some coils. Local places have to order so figure I could do the same. So I'll definitely be over there later today. Want some bigger brakes and rotors but found a bunch in 4 lug rotors that won't work for the 2015. Got a nice bit of cash to throw your way for sure.
Need a nice setup for about 3 or 4 grand but damn Brembo brakes are half that. So it won't go as far as it would in a Honda.

Thanks for checking us out.

Yes we have a ton of stuff, i look at all the BBK and coilovers. I have Ohlins on my R58 JCW and love them. AST Suspension are super nice also. Then it goes down the line to KW ST and then BC racing in quality. All good, just the higher price stuff has a better finish.
