It was 2006, and my brother-in-law wanted a new Mini JCW. He lived in Santa Ana at the time and the cars were selling fast- thousands above the sticker price. I suggested he try a place like Cleveland, where (at the time) Minis were not as popular. He found the right price on the right car and we both met in Cleveland to drive it home. An epic road trip- small roads, fun car, etc.

I'm mostly a motorcycle guy (horsepower/weight) but have always wanted a Mini as a toy. I just picked one up a few days ago- ChiliRed 2003 MCS with 41k original miles. 6 speed chrono, etc. I've been getting it squared away- today just replaced the antenna box that controls the key remotes.

Ahhh...2006, remember the days you didn’t have to wear a mask, and you could shake hands freely. Hopefully we get back to those care free days. San Diego, a beautiful place to be, and to drive a mini. Can’t beat Southern California, although my brother who is in Marina del Rey, has more frequently complained about oppressive heat and humidity, like we get in the northeast in the summer. Guess you can add global warming to that list of masks and handshakes lol. Welcome to mini world, next best thing to a motorcycle, but with two extra wheels.
