I'm new to the forum. I've got 2 Mini's:
1. 2004 Mini Cooper S we bought for my son and performed the standard repairs (oil pan gasket, position sensor gasket, thermostat and housing). He took it to college and I haven't been able to drive it so...
2. 2010 Mini Cooper S that wasn't running that I bought as a project car. The previous owner ran it low on oil, the timing chain tensioner failed and the intake valves hit the pistons. So I've pulled it apart, and had it machined at a local shop (had the block machined so I could put forged pistons in it and had the head rebuilt - 8 new valves and all new guides and seals).
I'm ready to start reassembly but I'm a little worried about missing a step and ruining my rebuild. I'm on looking at articles.

My first mini 2004 Mini Cooper S standard - well technically my son's since he's going to keep it. I'm sure I'll have to sign the title over some day.
