satelite radio activation question

I just purchased a CPO 2017 Mini cooper S 7 edition. The car is wired for satelite radio, but the dealer wants @ $550 to activator the radio. Is there an easy, less expesive way to activate the satelite radio?

I believe the meaning of 'wired for' is that the receiver is not installed .... so he's charging a BUNCH to install the box ....

I'd note that on my 15 R-59 SIRIUS with 1 year of service is $250 on the sticker.

You might go to a good car audio shop and see if they can offer any options.

the 'add on' and movable SIRIUS recvr is $30 at Crutchfield ..... https://www.crutchfield.com/g_250150...ios.html?tp=85

<and up for fancier models>
