New mini!

Recently purchased a 2008 JCW (black on yellow) and excited to start driving. Just a few questions I have about it. There is a tire pressure light on, guy who sold it said it was a bad sensor (all tires were up to spec), and the VIN runs as a mini Cooper s, with supercharger, despite having nonesuch. Any advice would be great.

welcome to the forum. The batteries on your sensors might be dead since they have a “10” year life. I could be wrong but I think there is also 2 black boxes one upfront and out back that are part of system, search TPMS or I’m sure someone else will pipe in eventually. I too have this light blinking and I think it’s the sensors in the tires, and I don’t mind checking Tire pressure, been doing it for many of years now.

That's what I've been seeing on other forum posts, thanks!

Is it a convertible? If so, those are still first gen through 2008. 2nd gen Turbo convertibles started in 2009 and hard tops in 2007.

Welcome

If it is a convertible it's an R52 MINI and is supercharged
If it's a hardtop it is an R56 and is turbocharged

Its a turbocharged hardtop, just wondering why the VIN runs as it does.
