New owner of an R56 Cooper S

Hello, 1st post here. Just recently bought my son a 2008 Cooper S with 95K on it for his first car. I've owned 2 original classic minis, both completely serviced and maintained by myself.

I searched high and low to find a good R56 with no oil leaks or check engine lights. Drove quite a few and there were not many for sale nearby. I'm joining here because now, 2 months later after the purchase, we're getting CEL codes and I've found the dealer to be annoyingly irritating and excruciatingly expensive. Number 2 O2 sensor heater circuit is the code, replaced the O2 sensor twice and the light continues... looking for help!

Congrats on the MINI.

If you have replaced the sensor twice and the code is still there that likely isn't the issue. You may need a better computer to read all the codes as a generic scanner may not be giving you all the faults.

I have read all 6 codes: O2 sensor heating circuit, downstream sensor, too rich at idle, random misfire, misfire on number 2, misfire on number 4, misfire number 3. All seem to be mixture/ O2 sensor related.

Hi and welcome to NAM!
Why a 2008?
They are really fun to drive and respect!
I am guessing the cat is about dead, or the intake hose at the turbo is shot. Then it is also possible the downstream O2 sensor could be bad too!
It is vitally important to only use premium fuel (92+ octane)
Congrats on your purchase!
Pics?

Not the best photo, but the only one I have at the moment, taken the day we put the earlier 17" wheels/ tires on it.

I have replaced the O2 sensor twice... will look into the intake hose on the turbo.
