I was looking for a fun work car with a manual, and stumbled across this '12 MCS a couple of weeks ago. I already tried my hand at tinting the windows (the rear window needed 2 tries, you can see try #1 in the pic, and I'm still not 100% happy with it, probably will try again soon), and adding some brighter backup lights. Planning on adding proper stereo equipment before I get into adding performance upgrades. Honestly I need a driver mod more than anything. Looking forward to getting to know the other lurkers here, and learning a lot about my new ride. If I see you running around NE Ohio, I'll be sure to give you a wave.

Sharp looking MINI. As you consider modifications, keep in mind your primary purpose and avoid changes that will make it a harsh ride. Specifically, larger wheels. The suspension on MINIs is not as forgiving when combined with big wheels as it is on some other vehicles.
The most important thing to do is keep up on the regular maintenance. Synthetic Oil changes at 5,000 miles, check the fluids between services and so on are more critical on a MINI than the Japanese brands.
Someone once recommend only using Shell V-Power for MINIs. I have tried to follow that advice and strayed for the first time last week and bought generic (high octane) gas. This morning, I stalled for the first time at a stop on a hill. It has tried to stall a few times since the cheep gas purchase, but this was the first actual stall.
Hi and welcome to NAM!
I am sure you will enjoy this little car, just make sure to keep up on maintenance and only use 100% synthetic oils. Keep the rubber side down and have fun with it!
Oh yeah, make sure to only use premium (high octane) fuel!
These cars need a bit more maintenance than *** cars, so keep up on it!
Congrats!
