First time Mini owner here - hello! I just bought a 2007 MCS with the JCW package. I've wanted a Mini for years, but it never seemed to have a practical place in my lineup. I've been a club racer for years now, and in order to make that work financially my daily driver was also my tow vehicle. I'm getting out of racing, meaning I'll be able to sell the truck, and in anticipation of that I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Mini. It's been great driving this around as a daily, and I might even get around to taking it out for the occasional driving event somewhere along the line. My fun cars have all been OBD1 cars, and I'm realizing that things have changed quite a bit and I've got a bit of a learning curve with all of the new electronics. Bentley manual is on the way, and I'm excited to get started. And if history is any indicator, I'm going to be picking up a ton from these forums. In the meantime, this thing sure is fun to drive!
Thanks guys! The car is incredibly fun, very fun DD! I think I need to address some things before even thinking of occasionally tracking it. Besides the obvious tire and brake pad choices, I think I need to make some adjustments to the suspension. The car is really low, too low I think. The wheels here are 16" if that gives you an idea.
And no clue what the spring rates on these - JK I think? - coilovers are. Need to rethink the wheel/tire/suspension/ride height formula here.
